“Great value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

Extremely nice, beautiful birds, river passing by, owls, quiet and relaxing. We spent Christmas eve with our children who had a lot of fun at the Villa. It is close to La Fortuna and all the other attractions. It is still far enough to avoid any hassle from town.

And that covers it about all. Simple rooms with a refrigerator and air conditioner, a small swimming pool, a simple (no more, no less) breakfast area (sometimes even used for diner, but that can hardly be called a dinner), a very bumpy mile to La Fortune and numerous blue jean frogs to hunt for. Does the job if you visit C-R to encounter the nature and wild life.

We went straight from the San jose airport, the ride is about 3hours,we were so happy that this place was able to receive us around 4:30am!! The place is very simple, clean and quiet, perfect place for relaxation !! There is a lot of animales!,birds, mosquitoes and is beautiful decorate it with flowers at every corner! The front desk Aldo was very helpful with us,he was very caring and nice calling for us to places and cabs, everybody is friendly .The breakfast is basic but very tasty, with cost rican food that is very fresh ! We love it! Far away from the city and you can have a great view of the volcano(if you are lucky and is not raining)

This really is a nice place. The location is just outside La Fortuna which makes it really quiet. At the same time, the distance to the town center is a little bit to far to walk, not a problem if you are by car, because parking in La Fortuna is free.
The view of the vulcano is amazing in clear conditions.
Staff is very friendly and very helpfull. Although sometimes they just speak basic English, they do all their best to help you. They helped us book a tour, even though they had to call the agence three times. I even asked if I could use a computer with a card reader, and a notebook was handed over immediately!
Breakfast is nothing to complain about, with fresh fruits and juices served.
The rooms are okay, they even have an AC, which is not very common in Costa Rica. The room was clean. Unfortunatelly we did found a few cockroaches there.
Next time I would definitely stay again.

The place is nice. Is out of la Fortuna town, so it is sooo quiet... but is close enough to go and get something to eat.
It has a nice view of the volcano. There's a creek going thorugh the hotel... A nice and quiet place to go and enjoy with your family.

villas are nice. Not so fancy but it worth the money. I'd rate this hotel as perfect if We haven't had so many issues with.. roaches,,, Yes, roaches all over the place. There were some at the kitchen and the bed room, as well as in around the pool. With a small.. let's say''' "bug control" this place would be awsome.

Anothe thing that I didn't like is that I reported my cell phone as missing to the receptionist and this person didn't give a [--] small sign of interest. A client reporting a belonging missing is such a big deal on a hotel.. (I don't mean they stole it... please don't miss understand) But I would love them to at least show a little bit of care about a complain...

The Eco Arenal Villas is the perfect destination location for those that want to get away from the crowd and enjoy peace & quiet. While close to town, a $4 cab ride, the 1.5 km dirt road truly separates you from downtown. This "old school" resort is a welcome change from the modern, "Disneyland--like" resorts along the main road. The delicious Tipico Costa Rican breakfast is fresh & tasty.

We had some trouble finding the place (put a sign in the village) but when we arrived we were surprised about the accomodation!
Nice, clean villa's in a beautiful garden, clean swimmingpool and a small jungletrail in the back of the garden. We were a bit alarmed by the review of mr. Vivrette but he obviously stayed somewhere else, because the villa's are very clean, nothing is worndown or rusty!
THE only comment is that the place lies 1.5 mile outside the village on an unpaved road so you have to drive downtown for dinner and drinks! Thanks to the friendly staff!
