Tough drive up the hill to this place, but a great view. Food was great and not as pricey as Don Rufinos. I loved my lamb and didn't pay an arm and a leg. Splurged on a Chilean Syrah that was the best wine we had in Costa Rica.
Good news and bad news with the credit card fiasco! Good news is that I finally got my card back from them the next day. Hooray. Bad news is that it is clear to me they did NOT bring the card to my table with the bill. That is why I left without it (though I acknowledge it is ultimately MY error). Next morning when we discovered this, phone was constantly busy. Stopped by traveling up that god awful hill prior to opening and the owner indicated he did NOT have the card but asked me to call back when the wait staff from previous evening arrived. Phone was clearly broken or something, but it was still busy so we came back AGAIN and the waiters were standing there at the door with my card.
So the good news bad news story hopefully makes sense now. The card should have been there waiting for us on our FIRST stop back to the restaurant in the morning. But indeed, all is well that ends well.
