“2nd stay and it was as perfect as the 1st!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2010

We were married at the Springs May 9, 2009 on the private porch of the Villa Guayaba. This year we returned and stayed in the Guayaba again. It completely feels like home away from home. The service is beyond Superb, it really CANNOT get any better. We absolutely love the staff and it was wonderful seeing everyone again and catching up! The attention to fine detail and guest service is what makes this place one of the BEST hotels in the world. My 9yr old never wants to leave, and we would truly love to take up residence in the Guayaba if they would let us. We will return again next year and the year after and so on. I HIGHLY recommend this resort. You will enjoy every moment you have here and you won't want to leave. Their motto is to make every guest feel completely happy and satisfied and they do an exceptional / "out of this world" job at it!

My husband and I just recently stayed at the Springs,WOW! What a beautiful place! We enjoyed the drive to the resort, and arrived at this exotic paradise. We were greeted with welcome glasses of delicious fresh juice made from passion fruit and oranges. Then we were shown around and to our room. The room was great with a wall size window to see the volcano. When you lay on the luxurious bed, you watch the magnificent volcano. AMAZING! Right away we put on our bathing suits and went to the pools. There are 16 pools. My favorite was the hot mineral springs at 103 degrees. This water worked like magic on my sore muscles and knees. I felt like a new girl when I got out. We went in every pool and loved them all. We had a delicius buffet breakfast every morning, watching the volcano. Sometimes you would see smoke coming out, we were lucky we saw lava one night.Awesome! All of the food that we enjoyed during our stay, was very delicious and the service was excellent! Everyone was so friendly. We even met the owner,Lee Banks. What a very nice and interesting man. He made us feel at home and suggested some adventure tours. We chose The sky trek zip line, the most fun thing I`ve ever done, repelling down waterfalls, incredible, and horseback riding. We rode horses on the property with our guide,Jorge. He was really great. He led us on a wonderful ride, showing us the property, and on a lovely path by the babbling brook. We saw the animal shelter, where Lee rescued and takes care of 27 wild cats and monkeys. We adventured during the day and stayed in the hot springs at night. This place is truly heaven on earth.

Cool and finest place I have ever been too. Hello my friends, you owe it to yourself. Once you are there, there is lot to treat yourself. You will have to make decision which swimming pool to go(HINT: There are 18 of them). Volcano view from the room and relaxed in hot springs followed by a massage.......... Would love to go back again with family.

We traveled with another couple in Costa Rica and spent 3 nights at this glorious hotel. I cannot say enough about the comfort of the room, including the balcony. I think all rooms have a view of the Arenal Volcano which was in eruption mode while we were there. The hotel was pretty empty due to the "very wet season" so we had no problem getting in to the restaurants on property. The food was delicious and the price for food and beverages was fair. My husband and I had a couples massage at the spa which was very relaxing. We had exceptionally rainy weather while we were there and so didn't plan any canopy/zipline trips. We did visit the wild animal reserve on premises and had the guided tour there. There were so many butterflies and birds around that we don't feel we were deprived because we weren't out and about. In the morning we could hear the howler monkeys nearby. The mineral/volcanic pools on property were very clean and were a great place to soak and relax. We went to dinner in La Fortuna one night at Don Rufino's (highly recommend it) and were supposed to take the hotel shuttle into town. The shuttle wasn't running so the hotel arranged a cab to take us in free of charge, but the cab driver either didn't know where he was going or intentionally took us to another (empty) restaurant. We figured we were at the wrong place and so walked to Don Rufino's and were glad we did. Our next hotel (Paradisus Playa Conchal) was a huge disappointment after staying at this elegant and classy hotel. Highly recommend it.

The Hotel is tucked away, with jungle and volcano views on a large property, and is 5 stars in every way. The rooms are stunning, the dozens of hot springs on the property and countless hummingbirds, breathtaking. Any issues can be handled by Johnny Castillo the hotel concierge and guest representative. He is absolutely wonderful and assisted us in many ways (you can email him at the hotel). Apart from being one of the best hotels in the world (Ive stayed at beautiful hotels in many places), this is a hotel with a heart. Due to a death in my family, the hotel charged us only for the dates we stayed, even though our reservation was for longer. The area has a lot to do, so if you are in Costa Rica DO NOT MISS THIS HOTEL

Don't let the drive in scare you, owner Lee Banks has built a jewel in the Springs. I saw a couple of reviews from people mentioning the gravel road into the property, these people obviously haven't traveled much and think the entire world has roads like we do in the US.
The trip up the gravel road simply made me more amazed that they were able to build the Springs, because you will be amazed from the moment you enter the lavish lobby to when you experience one of the dozens of springs. Or my personal favorite waking up to a breathtaking view of Arenal volcano every morning was the highlight of an amazing stay.
