“SKIN HEAVEN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

We totally enjoyed the monkey's, armadillos and other unusual critters as well as the incredibly healing and soothing hot springs! The hot spring steam hut, mud bath & hot springs pool were incredibly relaxing! My skin, over a week and a half later, is so smooth and soft - UNREAL. The waiters were top of the line and our guide was extraordinary! Want to go back!

Dear Tracytiki,

I am so glad you were able to enjoy the many amenities offered at our resort. Our hot springs pools have been consistently rated as the top springs in the arenal area.

The reason your skin feels so great after soaking in our hot springs is our water is filled with natural minerals such as bicarbonates, sodium, calcium, potassium, boron, magnesium, iron, and sulfur. The combination of these along with the geothermal heat produced deep in the earth induce relaxation, exfoliation, and natural healing of the body.

Thank you for the great compliments regarding our staff. We strive to provide the best service possible and give our guests the 5-star experience.

From all of us at The Springs Resort & Spa... Pura Vida!

We just returned from an early August trip to Costa Rica spending three nights at the Springs Resort. Don’t let the road leading to the resort scare you (and it is scary). The Springs Resort is absolutely stunning and a well deserved 5 stars. Our family consisted of two adults and two teenagers (ages 13 & 16). We stayed in a two level family suite that was huge with two large bathrooms. The room was beautiful, roomy, clean and comfortable. The view of the volcano from the large balcony (equipped with two hammocks as well as a table and several chairs) was amazing. The service at this resort is also top notch at all levels. A huge plus is that the hotel, the grounds and the pools are designed so it never feels crowded or busy. The resort is perfect for a honeymoon or a family vacation.

Beside the great rooms and service, the 18 pools and hot springs are the “Wow” at this resort. Most are very secluded and peaceful. Feels like true paradise when you relax in the hot springs after a day of sightseeing. There is one further away from the main building that has a water slide we all enjoyed. The slide was pretty long and you went down quite fast. My teens loved it. There are also several hot springs at Club Rio that are set in the rainforest overlooking the river. We enjoyed those while the kids enjoyed Club Rio.

My teens loved Club Rio which is along the river on the resort grounds (you take a school bus to get there that runs on a regular basis from the lobby). They enjoyed the tubing and also did the rock climbing. All of the guides were terrific and made it really fun. The tour of the wildlife preserve was interesting and informative and is a must see. We ate at the open air restaurant at Club Rio and the food was very good. Order the fried cheese & Lava Flow cocktail.

The only negatives are the road that leads to the hotel and the fact it is on a hill so you will have to walk up and down steps to get from the room to the main hotel area.

If you are going to the Arenal volcano area this is definately the place to stay. The price is worth it. It was amazing and we would definately like to go back.

Dear Joyce D,

Thank you for taking the time to write an extensive review about your experience in Arenal at our property. I am very happy to hear you enjoyed our many pools including our famous "Perdidos Springs" and other amenites. We try to ensure that each and every one of our guests has an unforgettable experience not only in their rooms, but throughout the pools, restaurants, and our Club Rio outdoor center. We pride ourselves on maintaining clean habitats and having happy healthy animals in our refuge. Our "Lava Flows" are one of our most popular drinks, and it is no surprise that you enjoyed some of these on your vacation!

Our family of four (2 adults, 21 and 17 year old daughters) enjoyed 2 1/2 days at this beautiful resort. The rooms are immaculate and lovely. The staff is warm and encourages your use of "Spanish" and tolerates "Spanglish" well :-). There are many activites offered on site. 2 tips to share: if you do the lazy river/tubing tour wear a long sleeved t-shirt. Adults use bigger tubes with rougher sides and inner-arm chafing was a big issue for my husband from all the paddling. Horseback riding was outstanding but wear shoes/pants you don't mind getting soaked as you have the option to ride through a river (mid-calf deep) on horseback -- a great time but soaking running shoes as a result. The spa credit is a plus; my 60 minute deep tissue massage was one of the best I've had anywhere. Staff was outstanding and very skilled. The spa facilities are beautiful and worth the time/money to enjoyl I'd highly recommend this destination. This resort is close proximity to many other activites including zip-lining which we also enjoyed. Zip lining is messy and our clothes were sprayed with mud -- very fun but bring clothes you don't mind having ruined by mud stains. We visited here in August which is the rainy season. While it does rain almost every day I wouldn't be afraid of coming to Costa Rica at this time, things are lush and green and the rain is refreshing and doesn't really interfer with your activities.

Room Tip: The villas are beautiful and very private if it works for your family -- private pool, jacuzzi :-)

Dear Lee S,

Our staff strives to create memories of a lifetime for all of our guests. Thank you so much for expressing your satisfaction with all aspects of The Springs Resort. Our on-site adventure center, Club Rio Outdoor Center, is my personal favorite part of the property and I am happy to see that you were able to enjoy the time you spent there. As for the irritation from the tubing, we have already taken steps to order sleeves for our guests to wear (optional) in order to avoid this situation. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience, and we hope to see you back to visit us soon!

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and had a fantastic time! The views from everywhere in the resort are breathtaking, everything is pristine and well maintained, and the food options on site are all really great. This place includes many amenities such as rafting and on site animal sanctuary in addition to the numerous mineral pools. Great for a romantic vacation or family vacation. We will definitely go back again!

We were two families visiting La Fortuna and staying at The Springs Resort and Spa. They have many, many pools and a relaxed atmosphere - and the view of the volcano from the rooms is breathtaking. We enjoyed the onsite wildlife reserve and went on several tours.

I can best describe the atmosphere as almost "disney-like" - so that is something to consider when booking this hotel - and if that is what you are looking for. We found the food simply average and instead enjoyed visiting the local town and restaurants.

An absolutely wonderful adventure in the Arenal area. Accommodations were top notch! Views were spectacular! The people that worked their couldn't do enough for you. The girl Nichole in concierge was so helpful at every level. She not only booked all 3 of our tours ( zip line, rappelling, and white water rafting) but assisted with dinners and answered questions about anything else in Costa Rica!! She's a real asset to the Springs! The hot springs are so warm and inviting like a soaking bath tub at home. Intimate resort with only 47 rooms so it's not like you're stepping over other people all day long! Enjoy!
