First class all the way! The rooms - luxurious comfort finished with amazing detail. The view from the room -- ummmm: front row center from your seat/bed/hammock, on your private veranda, of the Arenal volcano. The property -- blended into the Costa Rican landscape --- relaxing pools discreetly placed all around the grounds. Adventure --- Club Rio: FUN, FUN, FUN --- from horseback riding to river tubing to rock-wall climbing to kayaking ---- and then, as if that wasn't enough --- just a short ride to zip-lining, canyoning (repelling) down 150 ft. waterfalls and ATV-ing through the rain forest. But not to worry about that word "rain", I was there in early October and the weather was just perfect - pleasantly cool in the morning and pleasantly warm in the afternoon. My 4 day stay at the Springs and Spa has to rank as one of the most action packed adventure trips I've ever taken --- and I've been on plenty! And somehow or another, I still came home feeling as though I also had a relaxing vacation. I guess it was the easy going environment, excellent service, beautiful room and delicious meals that made up the "relaxing ingredient" to balance out all of the other high-octane activities that I chose to participate in. Head for The Springs! I know I'll be going back again!

Just went to the hotel at Srings and Resort and Spa at Arenal. First, the rainy season is until the end of December. It rains about 300 days in Arenal so understand you may have some bad days. My wife and I just went the first week of January and the weather was great. It is always sunny in the morning and gets cloudy by the end of the day. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and are kept up. The room was also nice with a new flat screen TV. The hotel employees were great, when we had problems with the bed or other problems in the room the staff took care of all the problems.

The breakfeast at the hotel was great. The only reason why I did not give it one more star was because the food at lunch and dinners were not great. It is a great place for families. Each room has a parking spot in front of it to park a two cars. Also the pool and hot springs were very nice.

This is a good four star hotel for your money. Finally, it is about a 10 dollar cab ride to the nearest city LaFortuna. The town has many places to eat which are cheaper than the hotel.

A spectacular and bustling property. Numerous pools of the therapeutic hot springs to choose from. Hotel spans 5 floors. Tons of activities, dining options, etc. Top-shelf. (But I thought our drinks were watered down).

We wrapped up our honeymoon trip to Costa Rica at The Springs for just two nights and immediately said how we wished we could have stayed longer. The springs/pools feel like you're in the middle of a rain forest, at night especially, but safe and clean. It also felt very private where we were able to spend ample time, day or night, in springs with no one else around. And the views from just about everywhere in the hotel are breathtaking. The view from our room of the volcano was majestic to say the least. We were lucky to be there for some of the sunniest days Arenal sees. The architecture and design is outstanding how the space is built into the natural landscape. And the food and service were exceptional as well. Food/drink were reasonable but our room was pricey due to the time we traveled. All in all, well worth it and a place to travel again for a special occasion.
