We stayed 2 weeks at the BandB Grecia. We took the room with jacuzzi. The view on mountains and the city are excellent. This is a great place, nice location near the main bus station, central park and some local restaurants. A very safe place to stay. The host give us a lot of information on local services, places to visit, how to get there, best deal to get. He also offered us some tours at reasonable prizes. We appreciated the intimacy and the liberty we had. The hosts-owner served excellent breakfast each morning

We chose this B and B based on the reviews here. With these new owners, I would caution people to re-think this property. We have stayed in many B and B's all over the US and Europe. We have never left a property early, until now.
The room was fine, the location good-it was the feeling there-not welcoming, not service oriented. Most people who run B and B's love this business and the travelers they meet-the new owners, in our opinion, do not.

Depending on what you're up to, this is an excellent spot to start, end, or stay for your entire trip. If you want to see and absorb the real Costa Rica, go to Grecia. In Grecia you'll find working middle class Ticos, shopping, dining, and the daily grind you'd find in any medium sized American city. This is not a tourist destination and that's whats great about it. Submerse yourself for a day or two in Grecia and you won't be dissapointed, especially since your hosts at the B and B Grecia can provide you with the information you need for small excursions into the city and surrounding area...to all out day adventures that you'll find at any hotel/inn in more tourist frequented areas.

The hosts(karl/monika) are truely delightful. From small talk to geopolitics, the hosts and area are truely what make the stay worthwhile. They're laid back enough to feel like your visiting friends and yet professional in their operations to the point where they understand customer service.

If your looking for an exceptional value and a clean safe place to stay near the airport that isn't a hotel chain experience, and that includes all the creature comforts you'll need, book a room at the b and b grecia...you won't be dissapointed.

B and B Grecia is a perfect place to begin or finish your stay in CR. It is 30 mins northeast of SJO airport, and on the way to several 'hotspots' including Poas, Arenal, Monteverde, and the entire Guanacaste area.

There are so many positives about B and B Grecia....
Airport pickup and dropoff at all times of day or night.
Clean, comfortable rooms fairly priced.
Accomodating owners and employees.
Great conversations in English, Spanish, French.
Yummy breakfast.
Tours arranged.
1.5 blocks off the central plaza (with mandatory Catholic Church).

There are primarily adults traveling through for a night or two. However, we have two daughters (5 and 8 and well behaved, I might add) who were 'adopted' by Karl and Monica, the owners. Karl took our family and two children of an employee up to Poas Volcano for a super relaxing day. They also let me borrow a bike for a cruise around the area.
