Housed in the former jail, the permanent exhibit is a short overview of the history of Costa Rica. They also have a changing exhibit of Costa Rican art. They have some interesting antiques and all in all, this recent renovation has been really well done.
I don’t think that I would make a special trip to see it, but it is in the old heart of Alajuela, proper and the Cathedral and Juan Santamaria Park are just walking distance from here.
