“Lovely place;good value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2008

We stayed here for 2 nights last October.Booked an appartment for 4 people for €40,- a night. For this price it's a perfect place to stay near the airport.Appartment which is like a bungalow is very spacey and the garden is well kept.Furniture is a bit old but no problem.Nice owner who speaks English.

Perfect place to stay close to the airport. Famliy run by very friendly tico family. We needed a place to stay before a very early departure from the airport. We very pleased with our stay there. It was quiet, convenient to the airport, very comfortable. They pick you up and/or drop you off at the airport free of charge, or in our case, at the rental car agency even further from the airport. The only issue we had is finding the hotel the first time the little village because the roads in Alajuela are not particularly well-marked. Look for a map on their website.

Hi, we stayed at this Hotel for 2 weeks this July. If you are looking for a nnice place, with great rates, you should consider Villas Colibri. This is a beautiful family operated hotel located 5 minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport.

Rooms are separated bungalows surrounded by beatutiful tropical gardens. All rooms are equipped with cable TV and fans and have private bathrooms. They offered me a great weekly rate, and I enjoyed Costa Rica so much !!!

Owners speak English and tried to make our stay as nice as possible.

had to buy a taxi ticket for 5 bucks because the owner did not get
back to me, after several emails, as to where I would be picked up.
after going outside the airport finally saw a man holding a sign with my name on it. Drove us down the ugliest part of town I have ever
seen. It was quite late at night and he drove up to a large totally metal gate with lots of bags of garbage piled up beside it. After entering the gate and closing, we saw a few bungalows with iron
around all windows. He stopped at ours and showed us to it, unlocked the door and left. There was no one anywhere. We
looked in the bathroom and it was a nightmare, toilet stained, no towel, soap, water, nothing. The bed looked as if it had been slept
in. Being late from the plane, brought no water with us. I did not
sleep at all that night for worry we would miss our shuttle to the east coast. We could not brush our teeth or have a drink of water.
The 6 hours later when dawn broke I walked outside to find someone to arrange taxi, only person there spoke spanish .
we did finally make our taxi with hopes that our vacation was
not spoiled with that horrible night.

  • Liked — the taxi arriving to take us away
  • Disliked — having to spend 7 hours awake waiting for morning
