An easy 1.5-2 hour experience close to San Jose airport. Its a nice introduction to the wildlife in Costa Rica. We saw 2 iguanas in the wild here as well! Animals seem relaxed and free. Lots of birds which really helped set the stage for bird-watching on our vacation.
We spent a few hours here during a cloudy day and it is a nice little place to get to know your Costa Rican wildlife. Quite small and specialising in birds although it has many other animals too. Seems quite popular with locals and tourists alike. Also has a small zip line although we didn't try it out.
Nice place to wander around!
This small, shady zoo was a terrific way to spend half a day in the Central Valley. The surroundings are lush and shaded, the birds and other animals were active and appeared healthy. There is a nice snack area, with peacocks wandering around. We have visited some of the best zoos in the country (Bronx, San Diego) and this treasure ranks right up there.
This is a zoo which goes the extra mile to present Costa Rican wildlife in settings as natural as possible. In addition, this is a major rare species breeding facility, trying to restore endangered or threatened species to a stable population. Fabulous attraction.
A great collection of animals from the area. The monkeys are so wonderful.las cañitas bar y restaurante.
