“Little paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2011

Wonderful place to stay, puts you directly into paradise ! You stay in a marvelous intimate garden. Clean, peaceful. Very nice and helpful owners. Rooms are charming, you’re provided with a fridge, cold water, and coffee machine. Don’t get discouraged by the fact that it is not in the city center. Its location is actually advantageous, far from noise, on the road to Volcano Poas, Sarchi and other cities of Central Valley. To recommend.

We stayed at Tacacori EcoLodge for one single night before flying to another destination. Although our stay was brief, we were treated superbly. Our hosts picked us up on arrival, and prepared a take-away breakfast for our early departure. I was sorry not to stay longer, but did get to enjoy watching the sun rise over their beautiful property before leaving. Next time, we'll stay longer!

My husband and I stayed here on our last night of our honeymoon. We wanted a place close to the airport because of our early morning flight. Tacacori was beautiful - beautiful garden, beautifully decorated rooms, beautiful views. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Definitely the best shower and best nights sleep we had in Costa Rica during our two week trip. The owners were very friendly. Breakfast is usually served from 7-9 but we had to leave before 5am to get to the airport for our flight so they prepared fresh fruit, juice and cakes for us the night before to have in the morning before we left. We walked down to the Xandari Resort for dinner and it was hands down the best meal we had in Costa Rica and it was affordable. And the grounds of the resort were also beautiful - they have a short hiking trail to a waterfall that we hiked before dinner. The view of Alajuela from the restaurant was also amazing. Our only regret was not staying at Tacacori for a couple days - next time we come to Costa Rica we plan to stay there for two or three nights instead of just our last night.

We (Mum, Dad, 14 & 10 yr old) stayed at one of the casitas next door to the main house for one night after arriving in CR. Patrick met us at the airport and seemed pretty relaxed considering he'd waited well over an hour longer than arranged as we'd been delayed by non-arrival of our luggage. Next morning, still with no luggage (and no chance of getting it for at least 48 hours), Patrick offered to drive us to a local Dept Store / supermarket where we were able to get sufficient provisions so we could head off to Drakes Bay same day by plane as arranged. I have to say that without his help, the start of our holiday would have been completely wrecked as no way could we have made our connection. (Drakes Bay has 1 small shop selling basics and that's that.)

The cassita was perfectly fine, comfortable and just what was needed. Wireless internet worked fine which was useful for sorting out arrangements. Breakfast was good - fruit, toast - seem to remember the bread was good, fresh coffee, eggs, etc.

As for the garden & wildlife, it's quite an attractive setting and there was plenty to enjoy given that it was our first day.

Again, thanks to Patrick & Nadine for turning round a tricky start to the holiday. Our baggage eventually turned up almost 3 days later.

This was a great place to stay! It was close to the airport and they were very helpful when we had problems with our rental car company. The breakfast was wonderful and the gardens were beautiful! Would definitely stay there again.

After reading the reviewed on TA, we decided to book two casitas for two nights - one for us and one for our kids. With a GPS, we had no problem finding the place in the dark after getting in at close to 11 pm. We arrived on 12/17, and with our x'mas luck, the neighbors had rented a sound system and partied all night singing loudly... Hey, they have the right to enjoy their holiday!! We cut our stay short since it was going to be a two-day party!! The breakfast was too skimpy for us, just a plate of fruit and toast with jam. We are more used to eggs, bacon, rolls, grits, and fruit, so that didn't work for us. Nadine and Patrick are very hospitable, welcoming, and understanding. We checked out one day ahead of plans and stayed in San Jose. While the place is quite nice, next time we will probably stay elsewhere...

This lodge opened in January of last year and we try our best to satisfy our guests and make every effort to serve them.
You just happened to come at a time for Costa Rican people receive a doubled salary on December 15th called “alginaldo”. One month afterwards, they spend more money and in particular, throw parties with their friends to celebrate the occasion. We are really sorry that this inconvenience, as usually our neighbors are very considerate, but this was a one-time cultural event. We asked the neighbors to lower the sound and the party finished at midnight.

Concerning the breakfast included in your price, we provide healthy and sustainable alternatives. We choose the locally baked bread and organically grown trust to minimize vehicle emissions during transport. Our fruit juices are made from fruit and our homemade jams are made with less sugar than commercial jams. We do not serve bacon and other delicatessen meats which raise the rate of blood cholesterol and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. The breakfast we serve such as coffee, toast, butter and jam are unlimited. Upon special request, we would be happy to prepare eggs and any additional breakfast items.

Carefully selected amongst the many offers in the area, we looked for an place to stay that was near to the airport and at the same time a bit different from other hotels.
The Tacacori EcoLodge came to be a good choice. 10 minutes from the airport on the hill to Poas Volcano, a great spot with lots of forest surroundings.
The owners were kind and the arrangements made for the airport pickup and transfer to another hotel was easy.
If you're looking for a nice place to stay with clean and cozy rooms, this is it!
