“Will make Julia's a "Stop" on our way to the beach.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

Tired, hungry and saw Julia's. We saw that it was a buffet, but being an "off" time (3:00 p.m.) we thought we would probably just eat off the menu. On looking at the buffet, it was still well stocked and had whole catfish! The three of us decided on the buffet and we were not disappointed. Good selection, well cooked and seasoned. Only thing keeping me from a 5 star is I'm waiting to get that catfish when it comes straight out of the fryer! Our waitress was great! Having owned two restaurants myself, it is a blessing to have an employee that has such obvious pride in her job and the restaurant. Oh, and a special treat!!!! Homemade banana pudding that just came out of the oven with perfect fluffy meringue! We will be back!

“Southern cooking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We were passing by this place on our way to Florida and it was a Thankgiving day so needless to say, most places were closed.

Not Julia's though. We didn't realize right away they only do Buffet breakfast and lunch food but decided to go for it anyways since we were hungry and had a long way to go to next town.

The food selection was definitely tradiional southern style and there were a lot of fried foods. However, there was plenty of fruit selection as well so you can find a compromise if you're not a fried food fan.

A few items on the menu were a little cold even though they're suppose to be hot.
Their hush puppies tasted very interesting. I thought they had some kind of fish in them. Perhaps canned salmon? Didn't ask the staff, but they were strangely tasty.

You can sample quite a bit of local cuisine for $9 so not bad.

“Lots of fried, dried food and rude wait staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

I've eaten here several times and different times of day and week. My experience is always the same.

This is not a restaurant. It is a typical "cram 'em in, feed 'em, and get 'em out" shovel-it-in all you can eat buffet for breakfast and lunch.

The food is good if you are looking for all you can devour deep fried meats, over-cooked and greasy southern style vegetables, instant potatoes, gravy from a can, defrosted desserts. Yummm, just like grandma used to make. 'Course everyone in the family has heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

Cost is under $10 and they close at 2pm.

As for the rudeness, if you're female and go alone, expect to be address as "honey" or "sweetie" by the female staff and then ignored when the male workers from the local plant come in.

“Good breakfast buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012 via mobile

Stayed at motel next door and had motel's breakfast first night. Friend opted to walk next door to Julia's so I went for a cup of coffee when I finished. It looked really good with omlets and waffles so I decided to go back the next morning. Found out they only do the omlets & waffles on certain day's. Even without still had plenty of biscuit & gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, fruits, etc;. Will also bring to your table pancakes & French toast. Friendly staff makes sure your coffee cup is full & buffet is stocked. Was about $10 per person; a little more than I like to spend for breakfast but worth the splurge.
