Me and my fiancé went to the battleship park area to watch the fireworks and planned on eating at "tacky jacks" because we looked online and it looked like a fun place to be and their food looked great! Read some reviews and we were sold---sadly.
We were there this Fourth (like the title says) and we went to eat around 2-3pm. It was a ghost town. Maybe 3 groups, 10 people in the whole place... Which is fine with us cause that meant we'd get a great view! (tacky jacks is surrounded by the Bay and has GREAT views at every window.) anyways, excited about getting a great view we were led to a table in the middle of the floor. 3 feet from the waiters station. WHAT?! I didn't want to be rude and ask to be moved after she had set our drinks down. Which were over priced outrageously. $5 for a VIRGIN margarita?--Served in a plastic solo cup??? Get outta here. And the food? Nothing better than a Captain D's or Long John Silvers. She, my fiancé, got the "jumbo crab cakes" emphasis on the jumbo. The crab cakes were MAYBE as round as the plastic solo cup my margarita was served in. And 2 of my shrimp were bad and over cooked. The staff was way unprofessional and slow to help us given there was 10 or less people in the whole dang place. All of that topped with a $46 bill ($50 including tip) made for a real unpleasant experience. It would have been a little better had we been seated near a window-booth seat --- WHICH WERE ALL EMPTY--- however we stared at the waiters station/bar the whole time. Extremely disappointed. Never going back, save your money! Go elsewhere!
