“A great place for a traditional chinese food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

After enjoying the amazing view on the rooftop bar of the hotel, Xindalu is well known for its Peking Duck. Its' worth ordering it at the time of the booking.

The menu is very classic but the food delicious. The room is modern and very comfortable. A good sign, the restaurant is also well known and occupied by Chinese and not only tourists.

“Excellent but Order before Going”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Great modern Shanghai dishes and a combination of some other.
Here are some things that you order in advance

Beijing Duck
Pyramid Pork
Beggar's Chicken

then you can order some appetizers to start.

“Expensive for Shanghai”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

The famous dish is the Smoked Peking Duck and you should order half a duck or the whole duck in advance.

The other dishes are ok, but overpriced. But since it is hotel dining, you expect to pay a premium plus another 15% service charge.

The thing that irritates me most is they charge you 50rmb for each person having tea. You cannot order a pot and ask them to bring a few more cups! But the tea it serves is not any special premium tea. It is tea bag tea. Why do I have to pay so much?

There are clearly cheaper options. But if you have not tried the famous smoked Peking Duck, then go ahead.

“Great chinese classics”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

Despite this being a hotel restaurant, it is very very good. All dishes we had were very tasty, beautiful and precisely executed. The service was perfect and the restaurant has a nice low-lit modern and busy interior.

“Super Chinese "grub", top class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Recommended by several friends, not disappointed at all. On the contrary, we came back already the next evening. The first with had some light starters, then a delicious Peking Duck, in the middle of Shanghai! Accompanied by a delicious New Zealand Marlborough Pinog Noir.
Second night, we had a lighter fare altogether, food, service, drink equally good! Miss it already back in Sweden.
Steven (Ling?) from Fujian Province was a most attentive, warm - not to say loving, attentive and respectful waiter.
