“Filthy carpets, very tired & worn out room.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014

My review title says it all. There is very little to praise and quite a lot to damn if I were to really let rip. The rooms must have been great when they were new & fresh, but now they are just very grubby and dirty. At breakfast the dining room thermostats were set on maximum and it was unbearably hot. I would turn the thermostats down, and then the staff would turn them back up again. Not just me, lots of clients commented on the heat at breakfast.

If there's one thing I detest in "Chinese" hotels, as opposed to international hotels in China, it's the miserable state of their carpets. LDF has the potential to attract with huge suites with good facilities. However, what on earth do their guests do with the carpets, and why doesn't the company replace those that are stained and rucked up in good time - at least the complimentary slippers help! Otherwise this was a convenient location for a business visit at a reasonable cost and a short taxi drive to the modern Pudong high risers and another world. The staff pretty much ignored this guest, and two attempts at the desk to ask for advice was met by blank looks! Breakfast is "Chinese" and does not leave much choice for westerners staying for more than a day or two! In short, OK, but there are better alternatives to be found on Tripadvisor!

This hotel is excelent, the staff in the reception were very helpful as it is difficult to get along with the language.

The room is spacious and the toilette is superb, although the tv is not that good but the shower is fantastic

They have a good variety of breakfast but after three days in a row you might want to try something diferrent.

Good location

Definetely I recommend thid hotel

Nice hotel, rooms quite big with a very big bathroom where you can have a bath or shower, and 15 minutes far from metro. Price not too expensive but neither cheap. Business hotel and breakfast buffet good.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights because it was very very close to the offices that i had to attend

Location is out of the way for a tourist and transport around here is expensive.

The room is excellent in terms of facilities and cleanliness but at the pusblished tariff it is downright murder. Due to the corporate tie up we got a cost of RMB 580 per night inclusive of something they wish to make us believe is breakfast.. I hve finally found the hotel that did not do eggs to order in their bfast buffet....

If someone is putting you up here because its close to their office then its a good choice to avail their corporate rate . Anything over 600 RMB and there are loads of better optiions.

Sleep quality was not good at all. and the hotel dos have a neglected feel about it

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms seems better kept

Very big rooms for the price. Internet access is via a wired connection. At first I had trouble connecting, but a they quickly came to my room and fixed it. Breakfast isn't very nice, but I guess if you get fresh eggs made, it would be OK. Location wise you are close to town. I've stayed at the Shangri-La on a previous trip, which is of course much nicer and even better located, but then again it's at a minimum 4x the price.

This is the third time I have stayed here, principally as the clients are very close by. If it were not for that, then I would not have found the hotel apartments, which for the price in Shanghai are competitive. The other major plus for this hotel is that it is already in the Pudong area and reasonably close to the Maglev station for the airport. The room is perfectly agreeable, but unfortunately all three that I have stayed in have some stale smell of cigarette smoke. The breakfast is good, with a reasonable selection for the western palate. The hotel is on the south side of the river and only a short'ish taxi ride from the likes of Xiantiandi, which is well worth the visit if you have time for a good western dinner.
