“Great value in Zhangjiang”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

Have stayed here many times, it is consistently decent, rooms are clean, pretty good breakfast buffet, 5 min walk to line 2 metro. Food court next door has many western and asian choices which are pretty good especially for lunch, better choices are a ten min taxi to Thumb Plaza. Only real down sides for jet lagged international travellers is that 24 hour room service does not include breakfast and the gym does not open until 6 am.

I have stayed here many times since 2007/8. Sort of represents my view of new China. Very well appointed rooms, clean and uncluttered, every little thing that you need.

Walking distance from the Subway so you can reach all of shanghai very easily. Next to a huge spread of restaurents with awesome Chinese, Jabanese, Korean and Western Cuisine. Some good street food too. Easy access to taxis and close to everything in Pudong.
I love the pool and Gym.
Hotel restaurent is limited but good. Stay off theburgers though

Room Tip: Ask for rooms near the lift. It can be a bit of a walk

Stayed at this hotel from 4th to 7th May. it is situated near to the new expo & about 10 mins. (15 yuan) by taxi. The property is very decently priced with nice rooms. The staff was very helpful with directions especially with the language issue. The breakfast was good but otherwise the dining option is very limited. Theres a food mall barely 5 mins. from the hotel which has KFC, subway, Pizza hut apart from local cuisine. The spa is very nice for those who want a decent massage. Theres also metro station situated 5 mins from hotel, didnt go there though.
Overall a very nice, decent hotel for those on business.

Last month I stayed in Shanghai for three weeks, and I highly recommend Parkyard hotel, in which I stayed during this period. Parkyard hotel is designed for business people (but not only) because it is located in high-tech park. This is a high-level hotel, cheaper then hotels at the same level that are located in the city center. Next to the hotel there is a station of subway Line 2 - a line with high frequency, and you can reach all sites in the city center easily with this line. In addition, there is a large restaurant complex next to the hotel. The complex contains a large number of restaurants, that serve food from kitchens throughout China and American resturants chains. Most restaurants have an English menu with pictures. The hotel has breakfast included in room price and serve it alongside Western food and traditional Chinese food.

I stayed at this hotel for around 2 weeks. The rooms were very clean, nice, well kept and comfortable. The Internet service was free and high speed.

The hotel breakfast buffet is definitely one of the best I've had. The hotel is located at 3-4 mins walk from the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Metro station and is 4-5 stops away from East Nanjing Road/People Square and 3-4 stops away from the Bund station (around 15-20 mins by Metro).

Only negative I found was a member of the Front Desk, a lady who was exceptionally rude and arrogant. Other than that, a great place to stay.

The hotel is a really nice one. Very clean and quiet. The rooms are quite spacy. The design is modern and you do have internet for free and a tv in the bed and in the living room. The entrance hall is quite impressive, which fits to the fast and friendly service.
Also the price is very reasonable, especially for Shanghai.
But I would consider this hotel more designed for business people. Couples, who want to see the city , should move closer to the center.

I was there for a week for a business trip and so it was ok as its a bit far from downtown shanghai. I was staying in a business suite and it was really huge. separate huge hall and a separate bedroom. View was pretty ok as you could just see other hotel rooms. Another good thing I noticed about this hotel was they provide umbrellas in all rooms for use which is a novel concept which I hadnt seen in any of the other hotels I had stayed in. I didnt use the subway but the station is just 2 minutes walking and based on my discussion with other travellers its quite nice to use.

Langauge is a major problem in Shanghai as forget about understanding english, many people including taxi drivers cannot even read english. So make sure you have Chinese translations of whereever you want to go.

Breakfast was pretty good with a nice spread, though the oil in some items tasted weird but that was the same case i found in many other restaurants in Shanghai.
