The Longemont is a nice business hotel, with comfortable, clean rooms. They are fairly large and well appointed. The staff are friendly and mostly speak good English, though room service often took in excess of an hour to be delivered. There are several restaurants attached to the property (I found the ones I tried average in quality), along with office space.
As for the hotel's location, there were not many things to do within walking distance. There is a Starbucks a close, but there isn’t much more selection. I opted to eat in the hotel most of the nights. But, fear not, Taxi cabs are very cheap in Shanghai, so its not too difficult to get around (though the drivers speak limited English). I never took the Metro, so I’m not sure how close the station is.
All in all, the Longemont is a nice business hotel that I would consider staying again if I was doing business close to its location. However, if you are willing to pay more money, I would move closer to the ‘action’. Specifically, the Park Hyatt Shanghai (in Pudong New Area) is a great hotel and its where I’ve been staying recently.
