Location was the only reason why we have decided to stay at Charms Hotel. A block away from the famous Nanjing road where you can shop and dine conveniently. Most shops closed at 10pm. The hotel was also a 20min stroll to Chenghuangmiao and Qipu Road wholesale market. We always chose
to walk to Nanjing east metro which is some 10min walk away, as there are more sights to see.
Check in service was very poor and unfriendly. The same team also did our check out. Booked a family room for 4 adults online via hotels.com and was shocked when they inform me they only allow 3 pax max in the room. (was resolved when we spoke to a more senior staff). Conceirge not friendly to help when we ask for directions around the hotel.
Hotel lobby and hotel rooms were old and dated. Fortunately they were at least clean. Rooms allocated on second floor and the room open out to a maintenance balcony which obstruct our view and do not feel secure as though someone is able to climb in from the window. At least the room does not have lingering cigarette smoke smell. Phone in room was not connected- unable to make calls out even to reception. No wifi in rooms.
Breakfast selection and quality was mediacore and always busy and crowded.
Conclusion- stay somewhere else!
