“Nice way to end the work day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

I stayed here while in Shangahi for work. I have to say everything was very well done, staff friendly and helpful. The room had just that little bit extra to make your stay more comfortable. The owner has thought about everything including a button next tot he bath saying "Spa", when pressed the lights dim and spa music comes over the speaker, fantastic way to relax. If you don't want that there is a TV at the end of the bath. Plenty of English channels, good choice of food, several restaurants in the hotel.

The down side is that is is not really great as a tourist place, it is isolated not close to restaurants. It is close to a train station.

Therefore the downside for this hotel is it will mostly get people who stay for work which is a shame as it has all the facilities of any good 5 star hotel.

A wonderful experience overall. Competent staff in the lobby. Fast elevators. My room faced the park, and it was nice to see that every day. One of the most modern and spacious rooms I have ever stayed in - restful color scheme, too. Electronic curtains. Both Eastern and Western outlets -thank you for that! Free high speed wifi. Tea and coffee setup with a limited minibar. Chocolates and oranges in my room upon checkin -a nice touch. Bottles of water every day. GREAT bathroom with L'Occitaine products. Tub with built in TV. Shower with two different shower heads. Comfy robes and slippers. VERY comfortable bed. The lounge on the top floor was great, and we were surprised that more people didn't take advantage of it - spectacular views and very good cocktails. Free breakfast every day - both Eastern and Western options at the buffet, which was appreciated. Here is my biggest recommendation - Shanghai taxi drivers don't seem to know where this place is. So, before you leave home, be sure to bring the address, phone number, and directions, in Mandarin, with you. And, if you are in Shanghai on business, bring the address, phone number, and directions, in Mandarin, to and from your local destinations, too. Every day was an adventure, not knowing if we were going to make it back to our hotel or not. The mornings were easy - the concierge helped us get a taxi, and also got us headed in the right direction, every day. It was getting back TO the hotel that was the challenge. All in all, though, a great stay.

Due to the change of my itinerary, I happened to stay one night at this newly opened 5 star hotel in Yangpu District. It is next to Huangxing Park, so the rooms have beautiful and peaceful views of the park. The lobby is huge, bright, and well decorated, the rooms are well designed and very clean, and the staff is extremely professional and courteous. Also, the famous Shanghai-style Xiao Nan Guo Restaurant has a store on the fifth floor of the hotel, which makes the stay much more enjoyable. This could be the first and the best 5 star hotel in Yangpu District as of today. Highly recommended.
