I eat at the Jade Buddha Temple (1st Floor Noodle bar) each time I visit Shanghai. It's close to our office, so I go with a Chinese-speaking colleague for lunch. It's a limited menu, pretty much vegetarian noodle soups with variable spices. I carry in a bottle of water. It's simple and relaxing to dine here. Consistent. No English though, and the menu is on a pillar where you pre-pay. If you can't speak Chinese you probably can fumble through alright. About RMB 20 for a nice, filling bowl of soup.
