“worth the cheap price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Stayed there in winter, in 8 bed mixed dorms, RMB 55/night.
Room, bathroom, and toilet: clean
Staffs: most of them are very helpful and speak good english
Location: pretty good, a lot of small restaurants, good dumplings shop, convenient stores, and subway. Though the surrounding is not that okay because it is located in small street, not enough lighting at night, crowded with merchants, walking people, cars, small traditional shops at day.
Air condition: the hostel and the room is pretty cold at winter since they didn't have heater at winter. only air conditioner set at 30'C in the room, no use.
WIFI: they have computers with internet and high speed wifi at the bar. the bar was cozy.

Blue Mountain Bund is at the 6th floor of a centrally located building near East Nanjing Road. The location is perfect, just a 10-minute walk from The Bund. The place hosts all sorts of travellers from international students, young conference delegates and backpackers. There's a 24-hour convenience store right across the building. The staff were pretty helpful and there's free Internet and wifi access. The rooftop common area is a good place to chill out to and make new friends.

Such a great place to stay for long vacation. Nice place, nice staffs and very convenient to travel around the city and to the airport. The hostel located on the 6th floor of the tall building which have 2 lifts that can reach the level. They have common room that you can use the internet, drink and eat. They also have a pool table outside where you can enjoy your game and a rooftop view of the city.

In the middle of the splendor of Shanghai you'll find this hostel in a back-alley. The costs were very cheap and the room was small, there must have been a catch...the room had no windows. It did have a good ventilation-system and despite being close to the bar, we were so tired it didn't bother us. Can surely recommend it.

Room Tip: Try and book away from the entrance to the bar.

This is a place I recommend to all 'easy going' travellers who are not looking for an upscale place but to very good value for money.
The place is clean, very well organized, very good prices. A very international student environment but also older people like me make a stop.
There is a very cosy loung room where you can spend the evening reading, talking with other guests in a very easy way.

Room Tip: If you are not really travelling short of money, get the best room. Will still be value for money.

we book for 3 nights double private with window at this hostel but for the 1st bight they overbooked so they gave us the superior room for the 1st night which the room was superb, the normal double room with window also good. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and the important thing is the location!!!! in the middle at East Nanjing Road and walking distance to The Bund

First, the shared room I got was clean, it had air-conditioning and was quite acceptable... But it was very loud! Avoid the rooms by the terrace, since jet-lagged Westerners love to chat there until unbelievably late. I had to talk to them two of the three nights I spent in this hostel. Annoying.

Second, the cafeteria/bar has a pretty international, youthful vibe, but it is kind of expensive. Do not buy anything there (not even breakfast) if you are in a tight budget.

Third, wi-fi and Internet-connected computers are accesible only inside the cafeteria, which is closed at night. If you need to communicate with people in, say, Europe, or America (remember the time difference), you will have to sit really close to the bar door at night with your phone or laptop... Really uncomfortable.

Fourth. The staff was nice and friendly and location is excellent. The building may be a little confusing, so read carefully the instructions given in the website.

Bottom line: this place could make it better. Skip it if you are not desperate for accommodation.

Room Tip: Stay away from the terrace area rooms!
