“Another Stay at Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya”

I really don't have to much to say about this hotel, I have been staying at this hotel at least 8 times, no issues so far, close to metro station, clean rooms (subway station).
This time I even was upgraded to the executive floor (by the way very nice rooms).
Going back in 2 week

Room is clean and modern. Stayed in the superior room but unfortunately there is no wifi internet access and internet(LAN) is not free. They shutdown the air conditioning during winter, we requested them to turn on the aircon as it is quite stuffy in the room, but they said the aircon is centrally controlled and they are unable to turn on. They suggested us to open the window to circulate the air and we did open the window but it is noisy due to constant "honking" of vehicles below. Overall we still have a pleasant stay.

Clean Hotel, very helpful people, one was always around, that spoke english.
You can buy a 3-daypass at the metrostation.
Wifi is only in the loby available. In the room fast internet by wire. I boght a wifi-transmiter fot 10$. So we had a very fast internetconnection in ouer room.

We were very impressed with the room, and would rate this hotel as a 4.5 star property. The location is excellent near Shanghai Central Railway Station, and the subway is just around the corner. You can get pretty much anywhere in the city by subway, or a taxi takes you for a few dollars to e.g. the Bund. You can take a direct Airport Bus from the International Airport to Central Station, which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The only thing that is lacking is proper Customer Service at the reception desk. Some members of staff were not very helpful, and often ended up needing assistance of a colleague for very basic questions. Not a big issue, but this certainly needs to be improved in an international hotel like this. Overall a very good stay and I can recommend this hotel to anyone.

Grand Mercure is really a great hotel!

I´ve choose a room at Premier Floor which provides great facilities as access to Premier Lounge (exclusively breakfast and daily happy-hour from 5:30 to 7PM), free laundry service and internet etc.

The room is not so big because I´ve asked an extra bed, but it was ok for my needs. The hotel is very charming and clean.

The beds (extra and regular) are very comfortable and you can choose the best pillow for your dreams. The bathroom (thank God) the is no bathtub and great variety of amenities.

The bad points is the English spoken by the staff at Premier Lounge, that we suppose people there might be more qualified to the service offer. I´ve faced a lot problems there but as soon as the manager (a French guy) knew, invited me to have a coffee, to understand what happened, to apologize. It was differential.

The hotel is close to the subway, restaurants, stores… a great option in Shanghai!

Located directly on Subway line One, three and Four and a foot step from The Main Railway station make this hotel a distinction.

Food and services are of Excellent value as are the hotel rooms and bath room and on top of that a very clean design and welcoming atmosphere.

Located right at subway station & Shanghai railway station which gives you access to a few more subway lines. Good food nearby also. Rom was fantastic & bed very comfortable. Separate shower. Breakfast excellent. Booked flights & train tickets through concierge which worked well. Definiteley recommend this hotel to others.
