Local Shanghainese friends brought us to this restaurant, which we enjoyed a great variety of dishes, starting with the cold appetizers, then hot appetizers then other main dishes. Even the roasted peanuts in seaweed dust was amazing. Love the beancurd in crabmeat sauce, the smoked fish (a specialty dish in Shanghai), abalone in soup, lotus root stuffed with sweet sticky rice, fresh steamed fish, beancurd "sponges" with black fungus, fresh crispy veggies (like long thin asparagus)...there were many more dishes which I cannot remember but it was all superb. Recommend to go in a big group so everyone can taste a wider variety of dishes. Ambience was quaint and the service was very good. Reservations highly recommended as the place is packed almost every night for dinner.
