The Magnolia is in a quiet section of the French concess, close to restaurants and subway. The owner and the housekeeper are helpful and very kind. Good bathrooms, wifi in rooms, fully functioning AC, and excellent breakfasts - coffee and toast and scrambled eggs. Would recommend with enthusiasm and will return here when visiting Shanghai. The rooms are a bit small, but since you will be out and about in glorious Shanghai not a probem.

This intimate B&B was a quiet and convenient stay within the French Concession district of Shanghai. The owner of the B&B was very well versed in English and helpful in answering questions. She provided a phone for use while in Shanghai, which can be very useful.

It is located about a 3 minute walk from Line 1 or 7 of the subway system, and about 10 minutes from line 10. The neighborhood has many wonderful restaurants nearby.

Breakfast was good but sparse, lacking any fresh fruit. But, there are a number of markets just outside the door where you can purchase fresh fruit very reasonably and bring back to eat for breakfast.

My husband and I had the Red Room, small but all the necessities were there. The property is an old house with about 5 rooms on the second and third floors. We faced the street but there was no problem with noise. The old French concession area is picturesque and has some good restaurants. It's close to two metro stations. Price for two in April was about $103 Candian and included breakfast.

Stayed in the Blue room for 2 nights. The room is small but the bed was really comfy and the decor was delightful. It had everything you needed. The little balcony overlooked the bustling street which made you feel part of the French Concession life. Breakfast was delicious. The Nespresso machine priceless and the endless supply of books a treat. The housekeeper was really kind and Miranda (the owner) was helpful and entertaining. Easy walk to lots of great eateries. Free wi-fi. Will stay again.
