This hotel is great if you don't want to be in downtown Shanghai. Step out of the metro and into the hotel for easy access to all sights on Line 2. If you really want to take the metro to Pudong airport, its there ( but only if you have lots of time).

Rooms were very good value, high quality furnishings, lots of space on park side- bathroom, dress room, main bed room and kitchenette areas. Plenty places to eat close by, even on the street if you choose. Supermarket over the road to stock up your room bar fridge !

Hotel generally very quiet - don't pay for their exorbitant breakfast - eat in the coffee shop or just don the road outside the metro entrance.

One metro stop away from knock off market if that is your need

This was my first trip to China and I really enjoyed my stay , as the staff were very attentive and friendly. I chose this hotel as it was close to the exhibition centre, so I could walk if I wanted to, it was only a short taxi ride to the other side of the river where there was a lot more to see and do. This hotel had a great selection for breakfast and my room was very spacious.

Room Tip: Try to get an upgrade to a suite as they are beautiful

The hotel is good for business trip, have a Metro station right under the hotel and very near to Shanghai International Fair, also near to Pu Dong Airport.
However there is nothing to do in the hotel after business, the facilities are poor for other activities. In General the staff are kind and nice and co-operative. The food is average

The Dorsett Shanghai hotel, is an affordable, comfortable, secure hotel in the midst of the Pudong area of Shanghai. If you take the fast Maglev train from the Pudong International airport to its Pudong terminal, then change to the Metro ( very easy), you can reach Century Park Station, just one short ride and from there take Exit 4 ...which will lead you directly to the main side door entrance to the hotel. It could not be easier. The front desk service is good even though the staff's grasp of English is not great...but from my experience it is not a problem and as with good hotels, they are expecting you to arrive. The hotel has a good breakfast/bistro area and the food is good.
The en-suite rooms are spacious, all have a good computer working area, but you may have to call on the resident IT manager to sort out the WiFi system, which can either be rather intermittent or terribly slow. Once its working correctly, the WiFi is better than many other hotels.
The daily housekeeping services are rigorously checked by a supervising manager, so standards are very high, however as other guests have commented elsewhere, the bedroom carpets tend to be in need of a good shampoo and the worst of the stains removed. That accepted, it remains an affordable Shanghai hotel with unbeatable access for strangers to the city, and better still , its easy connect to the subway system, allows guests to explore the rest of the city safely, efficiently and at low cost. All subways have automated subway ticket vending machines...and don't panic.. they all have an English option which is remarkably easy to follow. One tip is to make sure that you have some coins, because the machines do have problems with Chinese currency notes sometimes.

Room Tip: The hotel offers rooms with Park Views or City Views...It really doesn't matter..you get a good...

The hotel is well located close to the airport train and this was also one of the reasons why I originally stayed in the hotel. However, I would definitely stay there again as the room as well as the bathroom were spacious and clean. I really do not have anything to complain as also the value for money was excellent.

Enjoyed my 1 week stay at this hotel. Very conveniently located with the metro just around the corner. Easily accessible from the hotel to the city or even to Puxi.
Excellent staff! Ever ready to assist you and always very friendly.

We ended up staying here as the Kerry Pudong was overbooked. In terms of location, it is about 5 min drive from the Shanghai Exhibition centre and is right on the doorstep of the Century Park metro. Century Park is right opposite too. The room was ok - quite large, but there were some stains on the carpet. The breakfast was ok, but the floor bit sticky. Perhaps it was because I stayed at the Kerry the night before that I felt the difference, but overall good location and ok for mid-range hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms with a park view really do have quite a nice view
