“Original Boutique high class museum feel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

This Boutique hotel is a bit high end, but its worth the stay if you like pure luxury and original design. Its location is at the Bund, very close to the best views in the city, even from your window. The moment you walk into the lobby your feel like you are visiting a museum, and also the rooms are decorated with the latest amenities avaliable, like a water proof TV with waterproof remote control. Taxis are easy to get on the road and the walk to the subway is about 15 minutes. Staff was very nice and breakfast has a wide range of Asian and western plates. Staff speaks good English.

The staff here is amazing, especially the manager of the restaurant, and the concierge would walk my elderly mother to her room when she forgot her key !

Room Tip: my family had four rooms for 5 - 7 nights, there are no bad rooms.

I love the interior deco of this chic hotel. Very warm and welcoming tones and colours and backed by friendly and helpful staff.
I like the minimalist decor along with the display of old and new "furniture" or daily items in the lounge area. The hotel kindly upgraded me to the bund studio room (likely because I was staying on a Sunday) which had gorgeous views of the Huangpu river as well as the Bund from the room as well as the bathroom.

Staff efficient and friendly. Happy to recommend places around to eat and advice re:directions.
Free wifi in the room without requiring a password.
Rooms reasonable size but very comfortable beds, extremely fluffy bathrobes and slippers. Huge screen tv, coffee machine, filled minibar, welcome fruit platter and bedside touch-button control of most lights etc was a very nice touch. A very good use of the minimal space without an overcrowded feel. They also had a closet pull out ironing board and iron. I slept very well.

The bathroom was one of my favourite rooms. The bathtub with views overlooking the Huangpu river is extremely gorgeous at night - great for a long soak after a day exploring Shanghai. The lights and river scene is enchanting. A reasonably large tv over the bathtub should you wish to indulge in tv rather than the gorgeous views. Japanese-esque style toilets with flushing, bidets etc etc. Separate shower area with good shower power and rainshower feature. Great toiletries with a full set of amenities that some lesser hotels might not provide.

Not near a subway but walkable to some tourist areas eg. the bund, the shopping areas, convenient stores a few doors down, Yuyuan Gardens and the surrounding tourist area and of course just right across the Huangpu river. Near the ferry stop for the river cruise.

Absolutely my choice when I next stay at Shanghai.

Room Tip: The bund rooms (if available) are definitely the better choice.

Just recently returned from Shanghai and stayed at Les Suites for 5 nights and selected this hotel due to the great rates on offer plus the reviews on Tripadvisor. While my suite did not have a view over the Bund the room was excellent. I found the little touches made all the difference - fruit daily, full mini bar including a fresh lemon to add to your favourite drink, all the bathroom amenities you could need and the room was cleaned perfectly everyday. The hotel itself was impressive - clean, modern and staff were friendly and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better location as you can walk outside and jump on the ferry to Pudong or stroll along the Bund. It's not too close to the metro but taxis are easy to find - remember to grab a taxi card from the writing desk in your room.

Just a note to those of you who are considering catching the Maglev (this is a great service and a bit of fun) from the airport to Longyang station. I caught a taxi from the designated and marshalled rank at Longyang station and managed to get a dodgy taxi with an incorrect meter...cost RMB200 to get to the hotel! Coming back from the hotel I got a taxi with a driver who took me the long way to Longyang station...least the meter was working properly! Taxis were the only downside for me in Shanghai and my advice would be to use them for short trips only.

We stayed at Les Suites Orient Shanghai for 6 nights after reading the reviews posted on Tripadvisor. We are very very happy we did.

General decor is elegant and classy. Our 2 Bund Deluxe rooms on the 22nd floor, with full view of the Bund and the part of the Putong area, were absolutely perfect. It was very clean and well maintained. The bathroom with the TV, was very spacious. The bath towels could have been fluffier but they were ok.

To us, the staff at this hotel is what made the hotel so great. Mr Pi was so hospitable and provided us with a wonderful surprise during our stay. Eric was very helpful in recommending some great restaurants for us. In fact, all the staff were excellent and did everything to make our stay very comfortable and pleasant.

One light in our room were not working and when we rang reception to tell them, a maintenance staff came within 5 minutes. My sister, who stayed in the second room, found the room rather warm. This was adjusted externally by the staff promptly.

The tea/coffee and biscuits offered at the lounge and breakfast served in the morning is nice and more than sufficient for us.

We had the need to use the provided computer at the lounge one night to do "internet check-in". We found the area around the computer area too dark and we had difficulty in reading our flight schedule document to get the flight booking reference number.

Overall, we had a fabulous stay and will gladly recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. We will not hesitate to use this "boutique like" hotel again.

Room Tip: The Bund Deluxe room on high floors have great views. The suite room 2201 has even better views. Som...

If I'll visit Shanghai next time, this hotel must be my best choice to stay.
First of all the great location,we have been here for 3 nights which was the delxue room facing the river. The reception saff were really helpful and warm, they were so nice,so happy to recommend entertaining places to go,absolutely always with big smiles. The concierge named David was very kind to show us the sightsee bus station by himself.
The breakfast was pretty average, not too much hot options and fresh fruits,a little bit disappointed.
All in all,I'll be back,haha……

Check-in 3 nights into Bund Studio with both Pudong and The Bund view, smaller room but the amazing view compliment it all.

Had to agree with one of the hongkong reviewer that "the fixtures and decors in the rooms are not well maintained, damages and cracks can be easily seen..."

Room - Clean and good bedding quality
Bathroom - breathtaking view, small but neat
Customer service - Polite but not very efficient
Food - nothing to shout about
Like - selection of theme surround in-room music, No-password free wifi & variety of welcome fruits.
Dislike - Coffee machine location is not user-friendly, need to move out the whole machine to insert the capsule and refill water.

Room Tip: If you don't mind smaller room and paying more, corner bund Studio can view both river and The B...
