This hotel is comfortable but is certainly not the best. It is good value for money. The Metro Subway station is about a ten minute walk. Taxis are very cheap ($3 for a 15 minute ride). The standard room is small but we moved to the Suite after a one night sleep and the Suite is very nice.
There are issues with cleanliness but the management is responsive (not common in China) and they cleaned everything we complained about. I do not envy them. The Chinese guests are very inconsiderate. For example my companion and I were seated at a table for four persons. I had my computer case on one chair and my gf had her jacket and handbag on the opposite side chair. This couple walks up to our table whilst we are getting drinks to have our breakfast (food already on the table), and they fully realize the table is taken but they move our plates to the side where our computer case and handbag are located and take the two empty seats! It looked like Candid Camera except I knew it is real because I have seen that type of stuff a lot in China. My companion is a polite and well mannered lady and she goes up to the girl and says: ``Excuse me we are sitting at this table`` and she is told: `We are too``!
OK we get back to our table, move our baggage and have to share our table with two strangers even though there are at least 20 other empty tables. The couple reaches over to our side of the table and grabs the salt and then the soy sauce and then the little plate that I had brought for disposable packs of jam. They make a disgusting mess of the table by throwing all the vegetable ends and egg shell ON top of the table that once belonged to us. And as we are eating our breakfast the jerk male brings out his cigarette and lights it up and starts to smoke. There is a do not smoke sign in front of him. I got up angrily leaving all my plates of food and moved to another table far from the a&&hole and informed the restaurant manager who is very polite. Two different managers go up to him and tell him this is a no smoking section and the smoking area of the restaurant is on the other side, but he refuses to listen and finishes his cigarette .....l throwing the ashes into the big dinner plate. The female animal at the table brings out a writing pad to write on and she wipes the egg shell and the vegetable ends UNTO THE MARBLE floor of the restaurant. My expectations of cleanliness are therefore tempered with that knowledge.
The Buffet Breakfast is free and it is extensive but not impressive. It is acceptable. There is free high speed wifi throughout the hotel and wired connection in every room.
Some staff were extra kind: Sammi at Front Desk, Fanny at Breakfast reception and our housekeeper whose name I never managed to get despite asking three times because she does not speak English and I know about 50 words of Mandarin but never got a chance to look up how you ask a person`s name LOL.
I give a comfortable four out of five to this hotel.
