It was my business trip to Shanghai for one week in August '13. The first thing you notice as you enter the hotel is its entrance lobby, it is is really grand. The chandelier and the paintings adds to the grandeur. And the rooms are very spacious and the view from top floor is excellent. I specifically asked for higher floor room with view. They have all the usual amenities like swimming pool, gymnasium and free wi-fi in guest rooms. The hotel is just a taxi ride away from the major city attractions like pearl TV tower. Its about 7 kilometers and hotel staff is courteous to get a taxi for you. They can also help you to locate the point of your interest and suggest the best way to reach. I almost forgot, the hotel also runs a one way complimentary bus shuttle for guests, to the city center.

From airport the regular taxi would charge about 200 RMB. Beware if any one approches you and introduces himself as taxi driver and takes you to taxi parking. More often than not they are not valid taxi drivers and they will charge lump sum amount. Such cars do not have meters. The taxi stand is just outside the airport, so I suggest that you wait for taxi and ask the driver to charge you by meter. If you do not know chinese then you must carry a map print of hotel location and the address of hotel in chinese script. My observation is that the taxi drivers are quite honest in Shanghai.

This is second time that I opted for this hotel, this itself says that I am more than impressed with this hotel. I would recommend this hotel for business travellers as well as for the families.

Room Tip: Try to get higher floor room overlooking the river. Go for valid taxis and not for the so-called li...

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. Unless you're traveling China the backpack/hostel way, a 5 star hotel is a pretty wonderful way to go. The beds and linens were from Heaven!!
For a nominal extra charge, you can upgrade to the Executive floor when you get there. Inquire when you check in if they don't offer it right away. It's worth it for the great 2 hour Happy hour; all drinks included, and a good Happy hour food selection. Breakfast included is perfect.

Extremely nice executive hotel. Located approximately 4 miles East of central Shanghai. My very large QUIET room (suite) was eloquently decorated with a view of the Huangpu River.
The suite has an executive work area (desk), large living room, large bedroom, small hallway, two bathrooms (one large and one smaller), small foyer area. All areas are well appointed.

Restaurant food is excellent with many different entrees. . Restaurant is buffet style in the morning converting to menu ordering type of restaurant in the afternoon.

Because it it located 4 miles from Central Shanghai, plan to use a taxi to downtown as the subway is about one mile from the hotel. I used the bus on several occasions. The bus can be crowded at times.

The immediate area surrounding this hotel is just.....ok.

This hotel is an executive hotel for those concentrating on work or business.

Room Tip: Top floors facing river.

Here's a tip for group tour members marooned in this elegant but depressingly out-of-the way hotel:
Take a few minutes before the bus or van leaves in the morning and see working-class Shanghai. Go out the front entrance and take three left turns. You will now be off the tourist track into a lively older neighborhood of hutong-style homes, stores and workshops. The large indoor market is the highlight. We saw no other foreigners during a recent hour-long stroll. It was a Monday. The streets were filled with shoppers ducking under the weekly wash drying above the sidewalks.

An elegant hotel with spacious beautiful rooms. The bathroom is large; you can even watch TV while having a bath and the separate shower is spacious and works well. Room size is very spacious and the breakfast has a good variety. Location is away from downtown but when travelling in a group you don't have much free time to wander around the local area.
