Fantastic to stay on the top of Shanghai in this modern luxury hotel. Spacious room and everything makes you feel comfortable during the stay. I agreed with the previous reviews bout the nice shower and modern toilet. All the staff take care of my stay very well and thanks for the complimentary given for our anniversary celebration. Thanks Park Hyatt given us such a memorable stay during our anniversary & 1st visit to shanghai, we will defenately be back again

Stayed for two nights while on a business trip to Shanghai.

Positives: When the sky is clear the views from the lobby lounge are truly amazing. The bed was very comfortable. The business center was very good. The foodcourt in the basement of the building is really nice.

Negatives: The hotel is in the clouds 50% of the time which negates the benefits of the great views. Room rate is pretty high for Shanghai. Not many taxi drivers can find the hotel entrance. entrance foyer of hotel and hallways are very dark; feels like a wine cellar. The main bar off the lobby is small and oddly designed. The main dining restaurant is mediocre and the acoustics are poor so have to shout at people seated only one meter away. Cell phone / Blackberry reception is poor through out the hotel. Bathroom counters / door handles / bedside tables are all very low causing anyone over 1980 cm in height to be hunched over all the time.

Booked a Park Deluxe King with an view back over the river. Jaw dropping view at this height (not for those scared of heights) on a clear day. Being in Pudong is not that bad, it is only a short distance to the tunnel back into the Bund etc. There are some river walks along this side of the city. Lovely room, amazing bathroom with good products and facilities. Bit disappointed with the buffet breakfast - all the food you would expect was there but I don't like to eat food that has been sitting around too long. There is an "a la carte" option but it seemed to have the same things as the buffet and was expensive? Does get a bit boring changing lifts at the lobby everytime you want to go downstairs but overall a lovely hotel.

The views, the service, the breakfast buffet and the bed were all fantastic. I slept 16 hours to get over jetlag without a care. The infinity pool was not quite infinite (chairs block the view from the pool -- what a shame) and for some reason other guests got refreshing face towels but I was not offered one.

The shower is the most amazing I have ever seen. It has four different bath experiences in a single enclosed area: a bath tub that fills rapidly, a rain shower from the high ceiling (all the ceilings are high, since this is an office tower) that drops a massive amount of water on the bather, a wall-mounted handheld shower, and a knee-level "oriental bath" that includes a stool and a bucket so you can douse yourself with yet more water. And you can have all four going at the same time with no drop in water pressure! Absolutely breathtaking.

The breakfast buffet was much more western and less Chinese than other five-star hotels in China, but the quality was very very high.

I got a large strawberry torte as a welcome gift in my room, along with a note from a manager.

The controls are complicated, but you can get used to them very quickly. One downside: some of the shelves were very dusty, as if construction had recently occurred and no one bothered to clean up after.

I would agree that if you come and go often, the security check can probably get a bit trying, but as an urban retreat, there is no parallel to this amazing hotel, deservedly number 1 in Shanghai.

Park Hyatt Pudong Shanghai is one of the best city hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are located between 79 and 93 floor of the highest building (so far) in Shanghai. The views from the rooms are awesome. The staff is very friendly - particular mention for the staff at the restaurant 100 Century Ave. The Living Room Lobby is great as well with nice views of the Jinmao building.

Nothing not to like here. Spectacular views from your window, the room has a sleek modern design, the amenities are great and the service --even by high Asian standards-- is extraordinary. This is by far the most courteous, friendly, efficient hotel staff I have encountered. My short two-night stay was an absolute delight.
