“Acceptable Chain Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Located in reasonable area nr football stadium. 10 mins walk to subway.
Plenty of local restaurants, hotel resaurant OK but average.
I chose to eat in any of the local restaurants which were all good value.
Suites comfortable.
Room was clean and tidy.
Room service OK but tardy.

Assigned a suite in building 'A'. Got out of the lift on the 17th floor to be greeted by really grubby carpet with big black stains. Superficially the suite seemed well appointed, but every piece of furniture was chipped or badly scratched and the cream sofa was very dirty with large stained patches. Asked for room change and was allocated a normal room in other building. Halls much better and room generally cleaner, but several things in the room didn't work: bedside light broken, leaking shower, broken chair legs, plug socket not working. At breakfast the staff were extremely slow to clear tables and on both mornings of our stay we had to set up a table for ourselves so that we could sit down to eat. Sadly not the 4-5 stars the rating would suggest.

Room Tip: Building 'A' very shabby so if you have a choice opt for the other building.

Nice place to stay if you are a tourist or on first trip to China. You will feel as if you are still in the States. Very clean and well managed. Very helpful and friendly staff .
Food is Americanized but OK. Don't let the prostitutes even speak to you. If you are approched in the lobby or on the street, just ignor the pretty lady and stay safe. Shanghai now is very much like a giant NY city. If you want upscale this is not the place. Got sent here by host company, not by choice.

Room Tip: Corporate purchase power is the best. Individuals will be charged too much.

Stayed here as part of our China tour. Location was great. Hotel, service and food was what you would expect at a Ramada. It was a good choice for the tour but if I had to pick my own hotel, I'd chose somewhere different.

This is a typical Chinese medium budget hotel managed by Ramada. Nothing more, nothing less.
Rooms are decent, though furniture in the one given to me where somehow ruined, desk chair with cut leather.
Bed was decent but pillows was a bit stiff with no alternative choice.
Restaurants are nothing special, the so called "western restaurant" is horrible with a shameful menu.
Staff speak some english but still many doesn't.

We only stayed for three nights. I would say it was ok. Nothing to get too excited about. The rooms were quite acceptable but rather noisey. More sound proofing would be good.
Other than the above, just another impersonal hotel.
Plenty of eating places just on the street and a huge shopping area not far away.
Try 'The Happy Lemon'. for a fruit drink and make sure to try some fried bread buns, wonderful.
