“Nice french bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

We were sent by mistake to old french concession, Xinle Road (we want to Xingle Rd). So we walked a little bit around and it was a tremendous contrast to busi Shanghai. Smal old houses, with shops and workshops. And after some time we entered an old french Cafe and were totaly surprised. It was cute, with a trayer and had Stela beer - and a very nice bartender.
Very nice experience for a faulty drive...

“Beautiful architecture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Lovely tree-lined streets with big French villas that are just getting more beautiful as Shanghai seems to be cleaning the facades. Great for a stroll, jogging, taking the dog for a walk and lots of restaurants and cafes within if you know where to look. Highly recommended.

“A walk in Little French”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

The whole french concession is very big and i picked Xin Tian Di as a starting point and walked all the way to Sinan Mansion, Sun Yat-Sen's former residence and Tian Zi Fang. Beautiful french cottages and maple trees lined the roads. When the leaves turn red, i can imagine how beautiful the whole area will look.

“Beautiful ancient streets ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

It looks absolutely real even if it's been totally restored or reconstructed. We felt like we were in the most elegant Shanghai neighborhood from centuries ago. My husband's family lived there pre revolution and he was born in an elegant town house that has since been torn down. However the streets were still there bearing the same names so it was very nostalgic for us to see. Very historic - you can see the elegance from the restored architecture.
