Wonderful section of town that combines traditional Europeon and Chinese architecture with tree lined streets. Mix in chaotic traffic and the result is modern Shanghai's most desirable residential area ( with prices to prove it).
Quaint streets and beautiful architecture. Too bad any essence of its prior history has been revitalized. In it's place are coffee shops and boutiques catering to tourists, expats and the nouveau rich.
This was the highlight of my trip to Shanghai. This is a great neighborhood to walk and explore. The tree lined streets are beautiful, and there are a ton of shops, cafes and parks to wander around.
This area gives you a flavour of the old area of Shanghai. It is also one of the more wealthier part offering exhibition and arts, that you may not see in other areas. You are likely to feel at home here quite fast. Enjoy and relax at one of the cafes/restaurants even thought it is a bit pricey.
Must see if beautiful parks and tree lined streets, with interesting boutiques, european restaurants, Sun Yat Sen's house, museums and monuments interest you. Very interesting and relaxing walk through one of the classic neighborhoods surviving from old historic Shanhai.
