It's clean and cheap. My single standard on the first floor had no window. Maybe the rooms on the higher floors have windows? First floor very loud. Wooden floors in the hallway mean guests can hear everything. When the phone rings in the lobby, new guests arrive, someone comes in late --- can hear everything!! Very clean. Would stay again if needed but still looking for a cheap place to stay with a window.

Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable and the place has an appealing feel for the price. I booked online and had no problems with reservations and checkin even though I arrived quite early. Great location off Nanjing Rd for quick overnight shopping trips - I used to stay at another nearby hotel which has a separate "new" building with rooms around the same price as here, but it was much shabbier. This will be my new easy choice. Attractive entrance area with friendly/efficient front desk, breakfast buffet (nothing special, but cozy setting and good strong coffee!), 5 min walk to metro. To find the entrance, locate the well-known "Big Bamboo" bar at 132 Nan Yang Lu - across the street (Nan Yang) enter a small alley, the hotel is on the right side.

Stayed 2 nites here in Sept 2010. Good location as near to the Jingan Metro Station (10min walk) which is also where the City Terminal Bus Station is located. Airport buses to Pudong and Hongqiao Airport from City Terminal are cheap and convenient. Small hotel which is more like motel, rooms are small but clean and shower is good. Avoid staying ground floor as can be noisy.
There are a few bars in the area so would avoid area if travelling with children. Otherwise area is convenient and staff speak fairly good English and are pretty helpful. Only grouse was they refused to let me leave luggage there for a few hours aft checkout = apparently this was due to the Shanghai expo that they were not allowed to accept luggage aft checkout (according to hotel staff).
As it is off a small street, it can be quite difficult to find and many taxi drivers dont know where it is. Its in a small lane next to entrance to JingAn fitness club (Jing An ti yue guan).
It is good value for location.
