“Lomani is five star!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

My partner and I arrived at Lomani Island not knowing what to expect, after a long week at the outrigger we were ready to go home, the moment we arrived at Lomani all our negative thoughts had gone we were suddenly overwhelmed by the friendly staff, outstanding service, amazing view and serenity.

We stayed in a deluxe room with ocean view the room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was the perfect size, t.v with external hard drive with loads of movies not that you will need it the views enough, tea and coffee facilities, everyday your room was made up, every night your bed was turned and after dinner mints placed nicely on the bed, full Landry service included in our stay there was nothing better than arriving home with no washing.

We paid for the meal plan this included all meals including room service, flame tree restaurant was nice we enjoyed all of our meals. When we are on holidays the most important thing to us is good food that doesn't upset our stomach and flame tree didn't disappoint.

During our stay I received two free massages and paid for a facial the girls do such a great job I didn't think I could relax anymore until I had my treatments. I loved the products they used so much I purchased some.

When you arrive at Lomani there is no reason to leave the resort, during our stay of 7 nights we ventured out of the resort 3 time and every time we did we want to go straight back to the peace and quiet.

They have a wide range of activities we went on the dolphin safari and actually got to see dolphins we loved it. We didn't do any of the other activities this holiday for us was about spending time together and doing nothing, it was a nice change from our hectic life at home.

The only thing i can think of that needs repair is the shower head was corroded, if that's the only thing I can think of this resort is AMAZING!!!!!

Would just like to give Lady GAGA shout out....!!!!!!! You are great at your job.

Thank you Lomani we hope to return one day soon.

We had read the reviews about Lomani and booked our five day break on that basis. We were looking for a child free holiday now that our children are all adults. We stayed in a beachfront bure (Number 16) which was the third one along. I know other reviewers recommended number 14 (closest to the pool) and I think this was because it is closer to the beach (they are all beachfront so we are talking about metres) and there is nothing to obstruct the view of the beach. However the down side is you have no privacy from the beach. Number 15 and 16 both have small tropical hedges and large coconut trees that create your own private enclave whilst still providing a beautiful view. They have built four new beachfront bures (24-27) these looked very new and their gardens were just starting to grow so they weren't as pretty yet as the more established bures (14 - 23).The beachfront bure was wonderful and if you can afford the extra it is worth it. I agree with gilliganandskip's review that it is not quite 5 star but somehow it ceased to matter for us. The bed was very large which was great but a bit too soft for us which is not a criticism more a personal preference. The airconditioning and fans were great and kept the room at the right temperature night and day. The outdoor shower was a big hit with my husband who used it the whole time we were there. The indoor shower was great too as it looked out into the garden where the outdoor shower was. There was no television which didn't bother us. There was wifi but you had to pay for that. We chose not to use it so we could enjoy the downtime. There was a large library of DVDs which were free to hire. The problem was there were only titles in the book of listings and most of them were not movies we had heard of so it was hard to tell which to choose (they were listed in categories such as action, comedy) etc. The staff were helpful, friendly and went out of their way to help us. There were kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and small sailing boats that were free to use. There were also free activities offered everyday such as dolphin watching (we saw a huge pod), snorkelling (amazing coral and sea creatures). Not as good as the Great Barrier Reef but wonderful nonetheless and no worries with sharks.Other free activities were handline fishing and a bush walk. We both had a massage (30 minute complimentary with our booking) and it was so good we went back for more. Insect repellant and umbrellas were provided. I would take a light rain jacket if I were going again as the wind makes the umbrella a bit ineffective. The cooked breakfasts which were included were very nice. The cereals were a bit limited but ok. I agree with previous reviews about the food at the Flame Tree Restaurant. It was probably more like a good three star restaurant. The local soups ($13 FJD) were quite good and the grilled seafood platter ($50 FJD) was quite good. Pasta was $45 FJD and Desserts were about $17 FJD. While we were there they had fresh Lobster one night which was 125.00 FJD and fresh Chilli Crab $85 FJD. Fillet steaks were $50 FJD. The wine list was limited but ok. Cloudy Bay NZ wine was $140 FJD and Margaret River WA Cape Mentelle was $120 FJD. We took our own wine to the island as you are allowed to take two litres of alcohol per person and I would recommend this if you like to drink good wine at reasonable prices. We took an Island Hopper Tour ($85 FJD about 7 hours) which was well worth it travelling to four Islands, Treasure Island, Castaway Island, Mana Island etc. with snorkelling. My husband went out for four hours game fishing and caught a Mahi Mahi and yellow striped tuna. There was parasailing, sky diving, scuba diving, wake boarding, waterskiing all available on the Island at a cost. We took the advice of other reviewers and went to Dicks restaurant at Musket Cove for lunch one day and dinner one night. At dinner we had a beautiful view of the sunset and the food was definitely better than at Lomani. My husband had the curry banquet which included soup, main meal, dessert and coffee (buffet style) which was very good. I ate a la carte and the food was also good. I think they should try and steal their cook then Lomani would be perfect! We would definitely consider going again.

Room Tip: Choose a beachfront bure numbers 14-23 they are closer to the pool and restaurant and have establish...

We stayed four nights in Lomani late Oct 12. Unfortunately, we had come from the Intercontinental FIJI on the Coral Coast which exceeded all our expectations and was a real 5 Star resort. So, LOMANI whilst beautiful, and tranquil, it is not true 5 Star.. That said, we really did enjoy staying here with no kiddie noise, just able to relax and unwind.

The BURE were very comfortable. Very limited storage space, the bathroom was quite 'tired' and the outdoor shower was added onto the bathroom? Not sure why it was located at the back of the BURE given you had to tramp through wet to get to the outdoor shower, it was however lovely.

Room service menu very limited with only chips and a burger. Free unlimited bottled water good as well, and the coffee plunger was a nice touch.

Our experience at the restaurant was not so good. Breakfast menu fairly limited and not real tasty. Our first Dinner was ordinary at best , so we spent the next few nights at Ananda's restaurant just near the airstrip (Great Garlic Prawns) and lovely cheap wines.

Free water activites were fantastic , though the gym was very poor. Most of the very limited equipment was broken and the gym was not air conditioned (I know.. why go there to go to the gym but my hubby is a gym nut)

Despite some of my negative comments, we really enjoyed LOMANI for the good bits, and ignored the not so good, as it truly is a lovely place to stay if you just want to relax and experience FIJIAN island life. This place would be so much better is the food options/taste was improved.

My Husband and I arrived home from Lomani Island Resort last night and there won't be enough space here to comment on how amazing the place was . We arrived and was greated by Orisi who had the greatest personality he drove us to reception where we were greated by the staff singing "what a welcome" we were then taken to relax with a drink and be breifed by a beafuliful staff member Bougainville, who took us to our room we stayed in the deluxe suites views of the beach of our private balcony , Our luggage was there waitng for us. The resort was everything we had hoped for kid free, beach side, large grounds with Frangipanni & palm trees as well as other local flowers, private and quiet. Not to say loads of things to do, but still a totally relaxing holiday. The pool was large and the hammocks hanging were perfect for the afternoon sleep before dinner. The staff were so beautiful, friendly and attentive, more than I have ever experienced anywhere , nothing a problem and full of smiles that made us feel so welcome . The food was spectactular and the service outstanding. The Spa was a speciality, massage perfect and facial a dream .Water activities and knowledge of the island and the surrounding waters were amazing (thanks Petuli), a great way to spend the morning or afternoon. We snorkelled and saw amazing fish that would eat from your hand and beatufil coral. We were lucky to see 2 weddings, an exchange of vows on the ocean edge, and the wedding on the sandbank was simply spectactular. The flowers that were displayed and bouquets were made by Jonacani a specialist in so many ways. Attention to detail by all staff involved was outstanding. Dinner by the shore at sunset was an amazing first time experience and all the staff made sure it was. The staff at reception were also professional with a personality of fun and warmth - wow Petually and Bou, many good times and special moments. Evenings were perfect sitting back listening to Mesu and his offsider singing and the voice of an angel has Jonacani Thanks guys, A kava or 2 was a memory I won't forget as well as the bar staff remembering your drinks every night and were happy to advise on a cocktail or 2 .Housekeeping serviced the room every day and washing done free - the bed was turned down with chocolates on pillow each night . Ground staff swept the beach and raked the grounds to keep it pristine .All the above couldn't and wouldn't happen without an amazing manager who was always meeting and greeting all guests . lovely Luci. Thank you this trip to Fiji was my first and we will be returnining to Lomani soon again ,Vinaka Lomani Family xxx Sharon

We went to Fiji on our honeymoon. Orisi, our favorite staff member picked us up from the helicopter pad and drove us in a golf cart to the resort. We had previously stayed at Matamanoa Resort for 4 days which I recommend too. If you can splurge, book a helicopter for one leg of your trip. Although we paid $500 for a ten minute ride we loved it, and thought it was well worth that once in a lifetime experience. Gorgeous views of the coral reefs from above. We were thrilled that Lomani was adults only and when we walked through the other resorts on the island and heard the screaming kids, we were happy to escape back to our peaceful resort. We didn't have to share the boats or beach with kids. We stayed in a deluxe suite because we just couldn't afford a bure. If you can, then go for it, they do look beautiful. We were happy though with our room which had a living room and a private deck which led straight out to the ocean in about 50 steps. We saved a lot of money this way. We were the only Americans there, most everyone was from Australia and New Zealand. They were very friendly. We spent our four days relaxing on the beach, reading, trying out the various kayaks and standing boards, swimming in the pool, etc. We went on the snorkeling trip for free and it was amazing. We were surrounded by fish and just inches away from stunning coral reefs. The staff was very friendly and knew us by name. I enjoyed a massage on the beach. The food was better than Matamanoa but I was say it it just average to high average. We had the meal plan and enjoyed getting appetizers, dinners and two desserts. I loved the banana splits. We don't eat fish, so if you do, you will probably be happy with the food. This is a place to relax, not too much adventure. Although we did head over to Musket and do the parasailing. This was an amazing 10 minute experience that we loved, even though we were not thrilled with the cost. I think $100 for 10-15 minutes. The staff sang to us and played the guitar most nights. We loved eating by candlelight on the beach with our feet in the sand. Wished we could have stayed a few more days but we had a 36 hour trip back to the states. It was worth it to go once in your lifetime.

Room Tip: The deluxe suite was perfectly nice and a more budget friendly way to go. We were still only 50 ste...

We had our practice honeymoon, our "mini-moon", at Lomani in late December 2011. The practice was a resounding success!

The staff at Lomani make it such a special place. From the moment you arrive they go out of their way to make you feel like you're part of the Lomani family. They are absolutely amazing!

Now to the beachfront setting - simply stunning! Prepare to be impressed by the long, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. The other thing to note is the quiet - thankyou Lomani for being adults only.

We stayed in one of the beachfront bures and it was stunning. Hugely spacious and complete with outdoor shower (in a delightfully private setting). When it comes to meals make sure you get the meal package too. It's great value!

The only hiccup we experienced related to the final bill. Somehow throughout the check-out process we were double-charged. We didn't realise until we arrived home in Australia and my credit card bounced. It took a while to sort out but in the end the problem was fixed. It was an honest mistake so Lomani, you're forgiven...

See you next time.

Cheers, jack

We just got home from our trip to Lomani island resort and I have to put it on the top of my list for best vacations ever and we have traveled a lot. The staff was A+ and so very friendly and helpful. The place is absolutely beautiful! The supply water, free of charge, which is unlike any other place where we have stayed and you can't drink tap water. They also offered free activities where they take you out snorkling by boat, dolphin watching, hand line fishing. We were there for Figi days and had a great time inter-mingling with the staff and vistors. It is like our 4th of July. They are a most amazing group of people. I read that they were like family and I thought, Yeah, right.... well, I cryed when we left!!! It is wonderful and we loved it! Get the food pkg. , unless you are really light eaters, but food is about twice as expensive in the S. Pacific as the states. The food was great and a nice variety! We loved our trip there!!
