This was my 4th trip to Fiji. I stayed at this resort with my husband and nearly 2yr old at the time last year end March/beg April 2012 (for originally 5 nights however turned out to be 7 due to inclement weather - the Manager of the resort looked after/compensated everybody very well). This reinforces the need for comprehensive travel insurance!
What can i say.....This resort really makes you feel like your away from the hustle and bustle. It is a smaller resort, with all accommodation as Bures, which was just lovely. Food was yummy, staff were very friendly and hospitable and went out of their way to ensure we were looked after well. Would have been nice to see a little bit more variety on the menu at the beach bar however it is what it is and was delicious.
We stayed in Bure 26, (adjoining bure 25). These were very close to the beach - sensational position. Rooms were all recently renovated and could pick no design flaws. Bed, couch and daybeds were all comfortable, slept like a log! The shower was slow to drain which just meant shorter showers (bearing in mind water conservation as well). The accommodation was fantastic, the variety and quality of the food was great, the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The ambience overall was superb for a holiday to unwind and relax. It was a shame we could not have stayed longer.
To staff on Malolo Island 26 March 2012 - 3 April 2012. We did send a letter however i'm not sure that you recieved it. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you kindly for your assistance during our stay on Malolo Island from 26 March to 2 April 2012.
Our holiday was sure one to remember, from seeing the Islands at their best in the first couple of days experiencing the sunny weather to when the two low pressure systems came through immediately one after the other 2nd being Cyclone Daphne.
We were also married at Malolo Island on Friday 30th March 2012. It was different to the sunny beachfront wedding we anticipated for due to the stormy weather, however was still wonderful! Who else could say that their boquet was freshly hand picked frangipanis by the staff climing trees then stems wrapped in alfoil.....Could you please pass on a special ‘Thank you’ to Marshniel Singh, Akanisi Susana who did an fantastic job of coordinating our wedding – through the dramatic turn of events, Executive Chef and his team who made a scrumptious reception dinner for 10 and wedding cake, the Celebrant who braved the rough seas to marry us on the day, all staff on Malolo Island who helped prepare to ensure that our wedding was an remarkable one and of course Senior Pastor Matia Daveta who made a special trip with his wife from Suva to sign our marriage certificate after the flooding before we left Fiji. It truly was a very memorable and happy occasion for us despite the weather conditions at the time, and the grief it had brought to most of the Malolo staff and their families who were affected on the mainland by the rain.
Our families were equally very impressed by the way you and your staff managed and prepared for the tropical Cyclone Daphne that was predicted to hit the Nadi, West Coast Fiji and Mamanuca Islands, having come from tropical Queensland we understand how difficult things can be. We greatly appreciated your hospitality to ensure that we all looked after, remained safe and well informed of the situation despite having to worry about your own safety/families.
We cannot speak highly enough of you and your staff and our experience holidaying at the Malolo Island Resort. We look forward to visiting again one day. Vinaka vaka levu!
