“Better for breakfast than dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

The breakfasts at Jims are very good. The dinners are not as good as breakfast. At night, the mashed potatoes are usually instant, and a lot of the vegetables are from a can.

“A little off the path, a lot on taste.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

A fair selection of good hometown Alabama food. You will savor every bite. Most folks would call it soul food but it's just "good ol' home cooking" to me.

“Better than your Mom's Fried Chicken”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2011

What a gem of a place. Fried Chicken and fried okra for dinner with biscuits and sides. Mid 50s decor and prices. Wonderful service. This is down home cooking and don't miss their breakfast of country ham, eggs, grits, biscuits.

“Meat and Three and sweet ice tea!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2011 via mobile

While heading back north from Destin, we found this place to be a perfect stop. About 6 minutes from the interstate, Jims is a throwback to a time where there were good southern cooks in the kitchen and the waitresses called you hon.

Fried okra, fried tomatoes, sweet potatoes, apple salad, and more. If you are counting calories or prefer your vegetables raw then just keep driving.

The fried chicken was awesome, although we would have preferred a little spice in the batter.

Overall, you should make this place a stop, it is a HUGE bargain, and make sure you save room for homemade pie!

“A bit bland, but good food in a friendly atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2010

Four golfers went here last week, based on tripadvisor. We all had the fried chicken, which was really good, but a bit bland for my tastes. I'd probably go again, rather than eat in one of the chain restaurants.
