“Great trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

My son and I booked a trip on July 31st and we had a great time. There was only 9 people fishing on the boat that day. We took off for the fishing grounds and big Mike set up a couple of rods for the ride out and within 5 minutes we had a 25 pound king mackerel hooked up. My son was the first to start reeling it in, it actually took several of us to get it in the boat. It was a total blast. Once we got to the reefs Capt Chris put us on the fish. We must have caught 50 plus snapper, a red grouper, amber jack, shark, and a couple of other species I can't remember. We especially liked the deck hand big mike who is especially good with kids. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to catch fish without breaking the bank.

“awesome fun day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

loved every minute of our time on the boat, capt. chris was awesome and put us right on top of the fish. Every time we dropped our line...we caught a fish and sometimes a double catch. The boat was very clean and Mike was a very nice deck hand. Hardworking for sure. We caught a bunch of fish and it was evenly disbursed and they even filleted some of them in the pouring rain. Awesome boat and awesome capt. and awesome mate:) overall experience was awesome, a day I will never forget. Highly recommend this particular boat:) The McClains loved it:)

“A Great Day!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

Capt Chris and Mike were fantastic. Thx to politic, we missed red snapper season, but capt chris got us to some spots and we all caught a bunch. We even were entertained by a mother dolphin and her baby. They enjoyed some of our fish too. The waters were calm and the day was perfect. We got caught in a storm when we docked and chris and mike stood out in the pouring rain and filed over 100 fish and then evenly distributed them. I love that mike explained what type of fish u reeled in. Will most definitely come back and refer them to friends.

“Good value for larger group”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Our challenge was finding a charter that would accommodate a party of 8 that wasn't a HUGE party boat charter with 50 people. We found this charter and I called and spoke with Chris about what we were looking for and he explained that his boat will hold 40 something people but he will not book more than 20...and at $120 per person plus tip (includes everything, including fish cleaning, except for our snacks) we were happy.

Drove to Orange Beach and were happy to see a very clean boat ready and waiting at 6am. After a few minutes explaining how things would operate we were off, trolling lines in tow. The kids got to reel in a few mackerel that were caught on the lines they ran behind the boat as we went out into the gulf.

Once we were where the Capt wanted us to be the two helpers already had us setup and ready to go with poles and bait. We had a good understanding of how to use the equipment we were working with and when Capt said to drop...we were ready to drop.

I will say, we did not catch a lot of fish, but we still had a fun day. There was a storm just a few miles south of us, and because of that it was pretty rough out there. We kept drifting from the spots, so we would have to pull up our lines so he could move back over the reef, but be still really enjoyed the day. The crew were very helpful with getting lines untangled and fish off the lines.

When we returned to the marina they quickly (very quickly!) cleaned the fish and everything was divided up between everyone on the boat. Very clean boat with bathrooms on board, but no running water in the sink so you will definitely want to bring handy wipes/hand sanitizer after you've been digging around in a bait bucket all morning!

We were back between 12:30 - 1...I think he kept us out a little longer than normal because we hadn't caught as many fish as they had hoped, so he wanted to try a little longer...plus it wasn't going to take as much time to clean the fish when we got back. We traveled out for about an hour, maybe an hour 15 minutes before we dropped our lines.
