“Nice trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Our experience with this trail was a bit marred by our sheer stupidity in bringing our dog with us on a walk during very hot weather. At one point, the dog stopped and refused to keep going even though we gave her water throughout the walk. My husband had to carry her out of the woods. She was OK. She's a young, very active dog so be careful during hot weather. It was a good lesson for us (unfortunately at her distress). That said, the trails are very nice. The trailheads are hard to find. We drove around and around looking before finally finding one. Better signs along the roadways would be much appreciated. It's a good, long walk along the trails. We saw a lot of people bike riding. We didn't see much wildlife, but the foliage is nice.

Take the whole family, on this paved trail.the trail is approx 6 miles long. The trail is well marked with information markers and restrooms. Keep your eyes open for all kinds of animals.

“It was just ok.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Nice asphalt trail, but not really much to see besides pine trees and bushes. There were some cacti and a couple pretty flowers. Oh, and there was a frog in the shelter I poured water on... I mean on which I poured water. Overall it was worth it for the exercise.

“Get off the road--busy,busy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

This is a fabulous place to go and walk, jog, bike without the dangers of the crazy, busy folks coming off the beach. The beach is a fabulous place but so many sometimes loose their train of thinking while here. That is why I pick the trails verses beach road during the summer to walk/run--great cardio in a quiet place!

“Easy and accessible family hike.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

While on vacation, I took the family on a short hike at Hugh S Branyon. We parked at the entrance just off of Highway 161 @ Marina Road. It was only a few minutes drive from our condo (Turquoise Place), with convenient parking, paved paths and easy hiking conditions. We ended up hiking about 8 miles, but the hike can be adjusted to your liking. The hiking conditions are easy enough that our youngest (9 yoa) and oldest (78 yoa) had no problem completing the hike. There is a very clean restroom and drinking fountain conveniently located in the middle of the trail system. And, it was completely free.
