“Get off the road--busy,busy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

This is a fabulous place to go and walk, jog, bike without the dangers of the crazy, busy folks coming off the beach. The beach is a fabulous place but so many sometimes loose their train of thinking while here. That is why I pick the trails verses beach road during the summer to walk/run--great cardio in a quiet place!

“Easy and accessible family hike.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

While on vacation, I took the family on a short hike at Hugh S Branyon. We parked at the entrance just off of Highway 161 @ Marina Road. It was only a few minutes drive from our condo (Turquoise Place), with convenient parking, paved paths and easy hiking conditions. We ended up hiking about 8 miles, but the hike can be adjusted to your liking. The hiking conditions are easy enough that our youngest (9 yoa) and oldest (78 yoa) had no problem completing the hike. There is a very clean restroom and drinking fountain conveniently located in the middle of the trail system. And, it was completely free.

“Great set of trails”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We walked a couple miles of the trail in the rain and thoroughly enjoyed it...paved and well-maintained with great scenery, well marked distance markers and plenty of spots to sit and relax (including swinging benches we tried out ourselves). Great little trail for walking, running or biking by yourself, with the family a group or whatever.

“A little more peace and quite on the Branyon Back Country Cotton Bayou Trail”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

All of the trails in the Back Country Trails in Orange Beach are enjoyable but I have an issue with high speed cyclists who whizz by walkers without warning...here is a tip:

Walk the Cotton Bayou Trail as it is an unpaved gravel path that discourages many cyclists. The trail is a few hundred feet north of Publix Supermarket and often missed.
