Okay, so here we are on the Gulf Coast with access to a variety of great local fish and seafood; indeed some of the best in the country. So what does "Joe" offer on the menu? Out of 6 fish choices, 5 are non-specifically identified as coming from the Pacific rim. The Pacific Rim? You gotta be kidding.
I guess I should have known--theme restaurants are all about the theme, and less about the food.
The service gets a 4 out of 10. At least the waiter tried to do a good job, although he never did serve the salads promised by the menu with the entrees. The food gets a 4. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't local. The grilled shrimp were small to medium sized and pretty dry. The catch of the day should have been thrown back. And the margaritas left a distinct aftertaste. But all is not lost, as the setting is great and earns an 8 out of 10. It's right on the wharf, and there's outside seating. Unfortunately beyond the ambiance of the setting, well, it was a wasted night.
If you like real seafood, try some where else.
