We love the Orange Beach location of Doc's, so we thought we would try the Gulf Shores location. Other than the name on the door, nothing was the same. I was not impressed. The food was over priced for the portion size and lacked flavor. The hushpuppies were the out of a bag frozen variety and the smallest I've ever seen. The salad bar is a joke. If you want to try Doc's Seafood, pass this one by and go straight to the Orange Beach location.

Doc's Seafood Shack was the best place that I ate while visiting Orange Beach AL. The food was outstanding, the service was wonderful... They really know what they are doing there. More than I can say for Hazel's Family Resturant. :)
9/20/2007: There were six in our party - we drove from Destin, Florida and arrived 10 minutes before they opened. The gals serving were the friendliest and really made our lunch the best! The food was absolutely perfect! The best "Gumbo" EVER!!!! The horseradish really made it. The gal kept us laughing and even showed us how to make our own cocktail sauce with the horseradish. Everyone had something different and all agreed it was soooo fantastic. They even gave us dessert (homemade carrot cake). Didn't even charge us for the desserts. After reading some of the other reviews, we find it hard to believe that they ate in the same restaurant that we did! Can't wait to go back...
Went to Doc's for lunch on advice from an aquantance. From our experience we won't trust him again.
Got seated in the back room and were the only ones in the room except the busboy who came in and out scraping dishes into the garbage can beside us. Waited fiftenn minutes but no one came to offer water or take an order. Menu was all fried so we left as another couple were being seated in the same area and they had a puzzled look as they looked around.
Spend your money somewhere else.
