Our family has been vacationing in Orange Beach for over a decade. We eat out lots @ both casual & formal locations. We dress up & take the whole family, including well behaved children (adults ages 40s - 70s; children 8, 10, & 12). We were familiar w/the chef & owner of Zen through his other venture, Villagio Grille, where we had dined 8/2009. We ate @ Zen 1st 6/2011 & then again for a 50th bday dinner 8/2011. The restaurant is located in a strip ctr amidst gifts shops & fast food & nail salons & grocery stores. You have to know it is there & seek it out. Once inside, the decor is very attractive, though the concrete floors are dangerously slick, & would not help w/noise ctrl if there was a crowd. We dine later than most, but hardly saw any other customers either time. Svc was slow in June, but fine in August. We tried several enterees & appetizers & desserts. The food is very expensive, but good.
