Cracker Barrel has a good product -- their food is usually tasty and seems fairly fresh. The company has a problem, however, that seems to be endemic with their restaurants -- its service. My family and I have been to many Cracker Barrels in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. No matter the locale, the service sucks. My youngest son doesn't even want to eat at Cracker Barrel anymore because the service is so bad. On this particular visit at this location, we were seated quickly. We had our orders ready when she came to get our drink orders and went ahead and placed them. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, however, the promised cornbread muffins were nowhere to be found and the asked-for malt vinegar and vinegar hot sauce for the fish and greens were also missing. We immediately asked the server who gave us our food, not our first server, if we could get our cornbread and sauces. He promised he would be back with them. Sometime later, our original server asked if we needed anything and we told her what was missing. Meanwhile, our food was getting cold as we waited for the various accompaniments for our dishes. Finally, she came back with our cornbread and sauce for the fish and greens. The service at Cracker Barrel ALWAYS mars the entire meal experience. Our charge for four dishes was $42.12 -- not a bad price, just bad service. Location never matters. There must be something they're not doing in training their servers for it to be so bad everywhere.
