“Cookouts and the Biscuits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2011

Not only is this motel very clean and employees very friendly (and helpful) they have weekly cookouts (I ve never stayed at any motel that does that). Also motel is official sponsor of the Montgomery Biscuits baseball team and are very informative about team and games (also never seen at any other motel). Rooms are very very nicely designed and decorated with above standard components. Would tell anyone with extended stay in Montgomery to try here first.

I booked this hotel only because my usual choice was full, and only choose this as an alternative based on the reviews here. The reviews are right, it's an excellent hotel. The lobby and public areas are sparkling and spotlessly clean, the same high standard I was happy to find in my room. The suite is actually smallish compared to other long stay properties I've used, but it is well laid out so it doesn't seem cramped at all, and the furnishings and decor are nice and modern. The bed (queen size, there isn't room for a king) was very comfortable without being squishy. The kitchen unit had everything to meet your needs, unless you want to roast something - no oven, but you could get a toaster oven on loan for free.

Their bussiness model seems to be that they offer a high quality stay at a reasonable rate, and one of the efficiencies they make is to only provide housekeeping every 7 days. For the savings I made though, I didn't mind making my own bed. Likewise, no food is served except complimentary pizza on Thursday. But they make up for that by having the best stocked and absolutley cheapest hotel food mart I have ever come across - soft drinks for a dollar, chips 50 cents - you can easily triple those prices elsewhere and even their cerials and frozen meals priced at supermarket prices. And there's a Cracker Barrel next door when you want hot food that's way better than any hotel buffet anyway.

The staff are friendly and helpful, though because they don't offer many services, I didn't have any contact with them except for check in and check out, which was efficient.

The only minor drawback was that they have those gossamer thin garbage bags that hotels favor these days, something you only suddenly care about when you have to take out your own garbage. If you fill the trash can and try to lift the bag out, the bottom is very likely to burst open. I bought some real kitchen garbage bags, which solved the problem.

The hotel is high quality and good value, and it's in the very best location for a traveler: close to the interstate, a large upscale shopping mall and tons of restaurants. Great stay.

You will be happy w/ all aspects of this hotel. The staff was always ready and eager to help, they were always very friendly greeting you as you entered and exited the hotel. They would go above and beyond their duty to make you happy. Even though candlewood do not serve food this 1 would serve food once a week with either pizza, delicious burygers and gourmet hot dogs, or some other kind of orders in food. it was a pleasure staying at this hotel, the rooms were always very clean and they would send several assistants in at once so that your room was cleaned incredibly quickly. I pray we visit montgomery again!

Soccer weekends are tough in a small, cramped room. Candlewood Suites provided a nice, spacious room for our family. The only downside, which I failed to realize when I booked, was NO breakfast. However, Cracker Barrel is located across the parking lot.

We were greeted on our arrival by William who recognize me as a Platinum Priority member. He upgraded our room to a one bedroom suite and let us know some of the services that the hotel had to offer such as complimentary DVDs to use, a fitness room and complimentary washers & dryers. We traded in our towels each morning for fresh ones and a couple of the nights we borrowed a toaster oven for our room. Our room was like a small apartment, clean with two separate TVs, a living room, plenty of food storage space as well as a full fridge for groceries we had bought. Our stay was for 5 nights and we would definately stay there again. All the staff members were friendly and made our stay enjoyable.

My mother, sister, and son stayed here for a short trip. This was my 3rd hotel to stay in in Montgomery in a month and this one was the best one. It was clean. The staff was friendly. There is a full kitchen with a fridge with ice maker. The beds were comfortable. The only drawback is that I could hear road noise but I would definitely stay here again.
