On a recent one night business trip I decided to see if this renovation lived up to stories the hotel maintained the integrity of true southern culture (I'm southern and know the real deal). This is the real deal! Absolutely gorgeous. First word stepping into my room was "Wow"! It was beautiful, high-end, huge (bathroom too), fully modern but with so much charm. Nothing cookie cutter here! This was not even a "best" room (special rate; you know how that is). Roof view was terrible but the room made up. Valet parking only but the public lot next door won't save you much; enjoy the perk. Hospitality is what you always hope for when you travel. The hotel is pet friendly and staff even remembered dogs' names for a check-in ahead of me. If you are looking for a way better than average southern hotel experience and want high end modern amenities in a great downtown Mobile location you won't beat the Battle House. (Try Spot of Tea about 4 blocks up for a great breakfast).

We stayed here as the base of the golf week on the RTJ trail. The staff were great, the breakfast buffet was very reasonably priced, and the location was perfect. I think the only two items I would change are the noise the mini fridge makes and/or the TV and the second day of maid service. However those were not enough to take away from the overall rating. Love the history.

arrived for friday one night stay, valet staff was very helpful with family unloading (2 kids, 1 infant). arrived at room with pack and play already in place. spacious room in the original part of the old hotel. prior stay was in new part of hotel which was fine, but like this layout with our kids a little better. checked out the roof top pool and fitness room, looked like a nice place to relax or work out. two rooftop tennis courts and couple of swing spaces for gold. overall nice stay.

We checked in on Friday the 8th and stayed only one night. We had business in town and knew it would be a short trip, but decided to stay somewhere nice. I did not have time to explore every single amenity that the hotel offers.
I can say that the room was quite nice aside from having absolutely no view. Also, the curtains would not close completely. I ended up hanging a bath towel on the curtain rod to make the room dark enough to sleep in the morning. This was a little disappointing, but did not ruin the stay. The king bed in our room was very clean and extremely comfortable. They really have out done themselves with the bathroom. This is by far the largest hotel bathroom, I have ever seen and includes a separate tub and stand up shower. Very Nice.
We did some spend some time in one of the hotel bars, the Tavern. This ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The bartender, Matt, is the type of service professional one would expect at a hotel of this quality. He engages the entire bar, remembers names and drinks and overall enhances the experience. There is also a live piano player there in this bar. He takes requests and is very talented.
The hotel is in a good location and there are restaurants, entertainment spots and stores within a very short walking distance.
Overall, I would recommend the Battle House if you are staying in Mobile.
