“Small restaurant, big deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

We had a group of 8. It is a small joint so we had to belly up to the bar for a few minutes for another party to finish up a clear out. Great beer selection for Mobile, perhaps 20 on tap. Some good mixed drinks too. Wine was limited.
Tough going for vegetarians, but the one in our party did OK with a cheese pizza. All of our meat-centric dishes were really good. The service was a good a you could expect for a big group in a small place.

“Unique tastes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

My family of four ate there on a Friday night. We had the family fare and the mondo burger and shared it all. The flavors were amazing!!! The chicken was perfectly cooked, the pork was delicious and the hamburger was one of the best ever. There was a guitarist playing outside, which is where we were sitting. They had heaters going, which made the outside comfortable and welcoming, even in mid-November. The satsuma martinis were fantastic- fresh and crisp. The key lime pie dessert was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

“Great food, Great atmosphere, Great Time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

This is a very unique concept with great food. I was blown away with there ultimate BBQ spud. I never expected a caribbean cafe to have some of the best BBQ I've ever ate, the sauce was excellent. The service was spot on. I loved the beer selection especially the kona longboard which went well with the huge potatoe! Another patron their told me that their fish tacos where the best they have ever had and if I come this way again I should definitley try them. I will be spreading the word on this place and will sure to be back when I come to visit mobile.

“Silly Side Portions, but Tasty!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

This little restaurant is easy to drive by, set back from Airport Blvd just west of Hillcrest, but it is worth a stop. Fantastic selection of draft beers and the pulled pork BBQ is excellent. Also, the black bean appetizer is fresh and possibly healthy! The wait staff is friendly and efficient. There is outdoor seating that is pleasant, if not scenic. My only complaint is with the minuscule size of the side dishes. They're served in what are basically over-sized shot glasses, giving you two or three bites. I think they could do a bit better -- especially when serving cooked greens (collards, or whatever), because those are practically free to make. The bottom line, though, is that this is a really good restaurant that deserves a better location.

“Excellent BBQ pork, good draft beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Had the "Family meal". The BBQ pulled pork is the best in Mobile. The Jerk chicken was good. The draft beer selection is extensive. Had the "Buffalo Sweat" draft; very good. My wife had a Key Lime Martini, it was amazing. They also have a Black Beards Punch, it was really good, but not like the Martini.
