“The bed was better than most budget hotels.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2012

This hotel is just off I 65 at the Prattville exit 179. They honored the weekend coupon rate (coupon books available at welcome stations and gas stations in most states) of $55. So it was inexpensive. The room was very large (bigger than Trip Advisor photo shows) and the bed was very comfortable. It had a pillow top that was just right - soft but not deep enough to be hot. The air conditioner was easy to control, so we had a good temp for watching tv and then a nice, cool temp for sleeping.

The room was equiped with microwave, fridge, and a flat screen tv with many channels.

Our room was clean and smelled fresh. It was a non-smoking room and we did not detect any smoke odor.

Breakfast was advertised as hot waffles, and sure enough they were there along with honey buns, other pastries, hot and cold cereal, and some fruit. There were apple and orange juice, and regular and decaf coffee, and hot tea.

We would stay here again.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2011

I was traveling with two young children, my grandmother and our small dog. We needed a place to stay for one night while on the road. The few reviews that I came across for this hotel were all good, so I chose to stay there. BIG mistake!

We arrived late that night, but the girl at the counter was very nice and accomodating. I was pleased with the very low $7 charge for the dog since others can charge up to $75.

The disappointment was in the room. It smelled SO badly of urine! The sink was clogged up. A bug was crawling on the bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was not very nice and the beds were terrible! We did check for bed bugs and didn't find anything...thank God. However, the pillows were some of the worst I have ever seen in a hotel room. So, between the smell, the lack of comfort and worrying about bugs crawling on us....none of us had a decent night of rest. Not to mention that you could here the person in the room next to you sneeze and cough!

The breakfast available consisted of a variety of Little Debbie honey buns, donut cakes and cinnamon cakes. Coffee and juice. Bananas & apples.

After taxes and everything, the cost was nearly $80/night. We would have been better off in a Motel 6.
