“Enjoyable Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We visited this restaurant 2 days in a row.

On the first night we had plain Naan, Tandoori Chicken and puree spinach with yoghurt. The naan was perfectly fluffy. The Tandoori chicken was done to perfection. The meat was very tender and well marinated. Taken with a sqeeze if lime... it was just perfect. This was the first time we took the vegetable done in this puree form. It was served warm in a small metal container. we enjoyed it very much.

On the 2nd night we decided to try garlic naan, Chicken masala and lady finger with potatoes. The naan was a little burnt but still the texture was great. However the garlic taste did not come through that well. Chicken Masala was good but not that fantastic. The gravy was good and would be perfect if the meat was a little more tender. The lady fingers and potatoes dish was well done.

The place has 2 dining areas - indoor and outdoor. Almost all patrons were seated outdoor because the weather was cool and windy when we were there. By the way, they are opened only for dinner. Be warned - be early else you may need to queue for seats. We had our dinner at around 6.15pm. By the time we left around 7pm the place was getting crowded. When we drove by the place later at around 8.30pm... it was packed.

Overall the meal was value for money. If you are there for the first time try their Tandoori Chicken and Naan - not to be missed.

The staff were very polite and friendly which helped to make for a great dinning experience.

“Good tandoori, but the rest ordinary”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

The tandoori was nice, the naans were standard fair, but the side dishes the service and the fish curry were all a bit below par.
Service was best described as chaotic, we had the meal served in dribs and drabs, no plates or serviette provided until asked.
Also worth mentioning, like many Malaysian restaurants this was Muslim influenced alcohol free... a bit unfortunate

“Pretty good price value but not excellent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

We were pretty excited to try this place, after reading all the excellent reviews... And the food was good...the naan bread was freshly baked and thus delicious. The chicken and mutton currey that we tried were good but also lacked abit of spice. The spinach and cottage dish seemed very blend and not fresh. So guess we should have tried the Tandoori chicken and not so much the other dishes. However, as the bill rounded up to only about 50 MR really there is not too much to complain....would go again, but then order tandoori chicken.

“Tandoori Dreams”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

Best Tandoori Chicken my husband and I have eaten--hands down, no contest, but have never been to India.

We had the Tandoori chicken and garlic naan and butter naan and the lime juice...best food in Melaka bar none...there is not one tourist trap place that can compare to the quality and price of this place.

My husband made me eat there three nights in a row and I didn't need much persuasion...the tandoori is not dry and crusty like they make it in Canada and Singapore...The tandoori here was half the price of Little India in Singapore and twice as good--even though we loved the tandoori in Singapore...We have never found a place for tandoori as good as this going through the western 4 provinces in Canada. My husband ate 3 orders by himself and kept muttering that we would never get it this good again.

Chicken was completely cooked, naan was delicious and amongst the best we've had in asia, and the service was great even though we ate outside at plastic tables...frankly we can't pay for this kind of service in Saskatchewan and we would have to pay at least $60 for the equivalent amount of food and quality.

The staff was fast, sincere, and put up with the hubby taking 50,000 pictures of their tandoori ovens so that we could try to replicate the experience when back in Canada. He talked to the owner and staff so much about their set up that I thought they would not let us back.

Everyone was friendly and polite and clean. An easier way to get here is to walk through Baba House and see their hotel and walk out the back entrance to the parking lot. From there stop in at the ABC motel and ask the friendly owner where the place is--then get there. We didn't want to take a taxi as we were cheated by every taxi driver in Melaka it seemed.

If you like naan, tandoori, and chicken masala....you gotta get here if you visit Malaysia.

This place was so busy they had no choice but to be fresh and freshly made.

Hats off to the staff and thank you for three delicious meals!
