“In desperate need of refurbishment.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

I would not call it a resort. Location is about 9km out of town which isnt a problem if you have a car. The place has seen its best days and is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The rooms are old wooden worn down, the size is good though. Our room door did not lock anyone could break in. TV is tiny, bed hard, sheets did not fit the bed, pillows were terrible and old, no fridge in the room, the room did have wifi which was good and a nice balcony sitting area. I have stayed in old worn down places and dont mind however I have paid very little to stay in old places. The problem with this place is it is far to expensive for what it is, we paid AUD$110 per night, far too much, room should only be AUD$40 per night. Breakfast was terrible, local food which isnt an issue, just everything was uncovered so flies and ants were crawling over the food. Unless price of the place is going to drop or they refurbish it I would go find a nice boutique hotel in central Melaka which is nicer and much cheaper. It is a beach location but I would not swim there.

I did not stay at this resort but went around taking photos of the outdoor area...

The chalets looked rustic. The surroundings are great and a stone throw away from the beach.
I did not check the rooms, so do not know the condition of them.

You can park your vehicle behind your unit, very safe and comfortable.

I would like to share the surroundings photos.

Room Tip: I have attached a photo of the chalet's layout. Get the rooms nearer to the beach for the best b...

My husband & I have been staying at Shah Beach a few times, either by ourselves or with our parents. We love the place as it is right near the beach with a great sunrise view. it has a relaxed atmosphere and the staffs are all friendly and approachable. The pool is great and there are many restaurants nearby.

The breakfast is average.

Unfortunately, the rooms condition has not improved over the years. It's pretty run down & the toilets are not very clean. They do have renovated rooms for the deluxe but more expensive. I hope the management will make the effort to make some repairs for the normal rooms to improve the quality and make our stay more enjoyable.

I wish that the establishment Management is currently working on improving the resort rooms as its really rundown and badly need for improvement works.

However, the surrounding and view from the resort are one the best in Melaka.

Love the 'kampung' (village) concept of the resort and rooms and hopefully the Management will retain the concept even with renovation/improvement work (if they are considering).

May not visit and stay at the resort until improvement works is done.

Room Tip: If you are really considering to stay, please take the deluxe room NOT standard room as the room is...

We booked 2 chalets, for our family overnight stay. Nice view to the sea, eventhough we cant enjoy the beach side. The wooden chalet feels like a kampung house, but poor indoor lighting makes it gloomy inside. There is no ceiling fan (even though air-cond provided) but during daytime we prefer to open up the door and window for good ventilation, and a fan is a must. TV (12") has got only 1 working channel - TV1 with poor reception.
The kids really enjoy the pool situated in the central area. The breakfast is ok (not that good) with a few option to choose from.

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool are noisier, but plenty of pool activity

We had our high school reunion on 24-25 Nov. Most of our friends are satisfied with our rooms.
A great place for gatherings, BBQ, family retreat. All rooms has balcony, which have either the pool view or garden+sea view. During our stay, there was a family which brought their own food and spread out simple lunch buffet for their family at their balcony.
One car can be parked in front of your chalet unit. Some chalets also have connecting doors, which is great for families that require more than 1 room.
The staff are very friendly, especially the sales, receptionist and at the restaurant. They tried their best to cater to our requests. Pool is small size, but well kept. Garden is very nice and well kept too. They even have a field area for telematch and group activities. There is an area for BBQ by the beach, but due to rainy season, we had to organise our BBQ at the restaurant instead. For our event, the resort had organised Karaoke session for us. Eventhough the management only allowed the karaoke until 10.30pm, but for us, they just let us be and had great time with old frens until 12pm.
Food is nice and tasty. We had great time having buffet b/fast, lunch and dinner. Free wifi is only available at the main lobby area.
Surrounding areas (less than 5mins drive), there are ample food outlets, supermarket, 24hrs 7-11, etc. Beach area is limited and not suitable for swimming.

Cons - room is not really clean, especially toilet. Looks like the housekeeping team doesnt know the importance of scrubbing the toilet!!

Overall, highly recommended place to stay in Melaka. I will definitely return in future, either with friends or family.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the ocean for better view, or facing the pools, for family with kids

It was our family vacation and we went there on weekdays (school holidays). The clean and village environment really makes this place is the best place to relax and bring you far away from the urban and hectic life.

Every chalets are connected to each other and this is the perfect places for family with kids. You can park your car at the back of your chalet unit without being worried about the safety of your vehicle.

The chalets are located at the seaside (Pantai Klebang, Melaka). Even the weather is quite hot and sunny but its windy and cool at night. Barbeque facilities is provided and you can request to use it from the management. Swimming pool for adult and kids available nearby the cafe.

Room Tip: All rooms/ chalets are the same village style.
