“A different part of the area's history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

The palace isn't original but is a composite of what it might have been. The building itself is interesting. Inside is a museum that focuses on the Muslim part of the area's history.

“Interesting, great garden - unusually for Melaka”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

An interesting building through which to wander, many interesting things to see and read about, a really pleasant way to spend an hour - and seemed to be similarly interesting the kids that were with families. I live in Melaka, and this would be in my Top 3 of places to visit (most others are just pictures on walls or static displays of manikins in front of pictures supposedly representing Melaka's history - often disputed) as it does provide a fair glimpse into the local history.

The location is very central, visit the tranquil and quite unexpected gardens across the paving before you leave, afterwards head straight across the wide paved 'road' into the underground shopping centre and immediately to Starbucks to cool down (say hello to Thomas the manager, he's the only one older than 30).

“"Just amazing"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

This palace was re- build on the old foundation according to the old maps, pictures and construction drawings. This is wooden structure and no nail was used to build this huge palace. A must visit place to visit. I wish they keep this palace open till 8 or 9 pm so more people can visit this beautiful building but it is closed at 5:00 pm.

“An interesting insight into Malaysian Gentry”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

After visiting royal buildings all over Europe I found it a great experience to see how royalty lived in Malaysia. This was a well kept building with interesting displays to give an idea of how the family lived in their day.

“Nice place to wander around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

We just walked into this place. It is a nice and small museum and was practically empty on Monday. Entrance is only 2RM and it is a joy to walk around in this tranquil place. Nice displays and quite a lot of reading to do. The place comes with a pleasant garden/park.
