“Modestly Interesting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

The guide's commentary reflected the scores of times she must have delivered it. Monotonous, without much engagement with the guests. Very short tour with some areas under renovation with attendant noise made this only an OK experience. Probably more of interest if you are of Baba or Nonya extraction, which I am not.

“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

The house the well-preserved, and tells a lot about Baba-nonya culture. The admission is 10 RM. The guided tour is informative. The only thing is that I feel the tour guide is a little bit arrogant in her attitude. She is not that friendly in the lobby when collecting every one's admission fee.

“Worthwhile”

This is a worthwhile couple of hours. Our tour guide was very patient and informative. If is a pleasant way to learn about the history of Melaka.

“Not worth a visit.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This museum is just a very small place and definitively not worth the price that we're paying. Other museums in Melacca are way better. This museum also have a very basic set-up and its hard to understand what the guide says

“Basic set up, bad commentary”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

The set up was limited to what the family have. I found the wedding dresses interesting. Otherwise, they are familiar objects that you find along Jonker Street.
The worst part of the visit was the tour guide. She repeated "my boss is very wealthy" every other minute during the guided tour which did not add much to what we already know about the Parankanan culture.
